Canada does benefit from trade with the US though, and doesn't effectively stand up against much.. and the very greediest simply want whatever's best for trade, so there are certainly still things for Canadians to be ashamed of.

Hey bigcheese, did you notice how we didn't invade Iraq with the US? And somehow kept relations good enough to keep the border open? Cretien pulled some finesse, there. Sure, we've got their warplanes in our northern bases, but we're not gunning up Iraqi suburbs. I'd like to think that Canada stands up to the Fundamentalist Union of Christian Klansmen when it's important.
