Hi guys

One of the longest-running netlabels, Kahvi Collective needs a new logo. Or any logo of some sort, because the current one is just a typeface :)

I'm reaching out to you scene ppl, because you are too cool and the label itself has helped many prolific demoscene musicians to spread their works, for example Heatbeat, Necros, Blamstrain, Esem/Stereoman, Distance/Lackluster, Radix and many others. See for yourself.

Keywords: chilled, ambient, relaxing, electronic, music, blue, pastel, drifting, edgy.
The text "Kahvi Collective" should be on the logo as well.

Hey nagz, imho the briefing lacks important information. If I was interested in delivering a logo that fits, I'd like to know about the pedigree of Kahvi. Which I can't find in between "chilled, ambient, relaxing, electronic, music, blue, pastel, drifting, edgy." It's just a list of attributes fitting "what Kahvi does".

But why does Kahvi do that? What kept it going for so long? Furthermore: should the new logo fit the style of the current design as well? Will this change, too? If so, in which direction?

I mean, okay - if he just wants to pick from a number of submissions, that's a valid way to go. But I think the most talented designers need to know more than above in order to get involved. Rough guess, the quality of the submissions will reflect that if nothing happens otherwise.

I think this is the case.
+ people inclined to do it would be most likely the ones who already know this label since 98 :)

@rp^frstl: People listening to netlabel releases rather than commercial music mostly know about the kahvi collective. Several demoscene musicians release stuff there under their demoscene nick or some other alias.

I follow them for 15+ years -- so many excellent tracks!

I think Ronny meant more along the lines of.. a designer needs a little more to work with.

at the moment the brief is so wide that it's hard to be creative. Need to constrain the design space a bit..!
