³ Hi there - these are the sound effects and music for the game ³
³ COLGATE released in 1992 by Silverrock Productions, which most ³
³ people recognize for their HUGO games for television. The game ³
³ was a typical platform-jump-around-and-shoot type of thing. All ³
³ the sound that I made for the game is in this archive. Note that ³
³ some of the SFX and the internal speaker music wasn't used in ³
³ game because the coder "forgot to put it in" (Hi Kaare!), thus ³
³ you can still enjoy some unheard jingles even though you might ³
³ already have the game. ³
³ ³
³ The game was released in three formats; Amiga, C64 and PC. On ³
³ the C64 version all music was composed by Thomas Mogensen, which ³
³ was converted to AdLib and Amiga. A rather bizarre approach you ³
³ might think, but at the time our composer (i.e. Thomas) only had ³
³ a Commodore 64 so we had to do it this way. The SFX was done on ³
³ the Amiga by Silverrock's own man Thomas Engell, who sampled the ³
³ sounds in his studio for use in the Amiga version. Later I got a ³
³ copy on tape ready to be converted to programmed AdLib SFX using ³
³ the traditional assembler method. At the same time the C64 SFX ³
³ was created too, but here I used an editor which made the job a ³
³ whole lot easier. On the Amiga the music was converted from the ³
³ C64 by Poul-Jesper Olsen, using his own player system. All music ³
³ and SFX routines as well as editors on C64 and AdLib was done by ³
³ Jens-Christian Huus. ³
³ ³
³ Note the "COLGATE1" screen. Ugly, isn't it? Well, we all have to ³
³ start somewhere - the picture was drawn in a couple of minutes ³
³ using the built-in font and smoothing abilities of the painting ³
³ program I used at the time. ³
³ ³
