Coca-Cola addict. Loves doing GFX code, also writes database programs, poetry, and is a debator, actor, DND player and romantic. Quotes : "How the hell can a hole in your sock be considered sexy?" "CODE!" "Have you ever tried porting this code to a MAC?" "You screwed up my life by getting me hooked on demos!" "He just told me to use Apple Quickdraw!" Pyro - some code, fonts, and 3D objects. 14 year old golf freak. Why on earth he plays GOLF of all sports, we'll never figure out. Probably'll grow up to be a doctor ;) -- I don't golf in winter. I play basketball and WH40K. Bastards! I play indoor soccer. I piss people off. -- Mordred's note: Yes, I know. Alot. -- I argue, too. Incessantly. -- Quotes : "I am THE happy little munchkin!" "Busy." "I say we rip the music from this game!" Meat - Musician. Joined us a while ago. He's still a member of Zerius, mind you, but Vindicator (see below) was being a lazy B****** and we needed music so.. Quotes : "I've got homework." "Have you released it yet?" Vindicator - Musician. Unknown age. All we know is that his music has been declared illegal at the Geneva convention, and that he's selling it to black market groups for use in warring countries for its demoralizing effect.. Quotes : "Asshole!" "That sucks." ßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜ About this particular file that you're looking at : ßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜ Smoke and Mirrors. Our best production yet. Wow, huh? Should have been done in september, but I got lazy... The end text screen should READ : The members of our team : Mordred - Code, GFX, Design Pyro - Code, GFX, Design Meat - Music Vindicator - Music The demo is actually copyright (C) 1997 Nicholas Vining, Nick Alexander and Edward Chapin. This copyright takes priority over the one in the end screen. Credit list : Mordred - All effects except for double plasma and crossfader, main gfx core code, all robot pictures, welcome to a new demo by sensorium screen, anything else i've missed! Pyro - double plasma, crossfading text, startup screen, font, also did lots of odd work with main gfx core code and other little parts. Meat - main music, design tips, criticism Vindicator - criticism and loads of it! Ideas credit (in no order) : Crossfader - Pyro Smoke & Mirrors logo - Mordred Smoke & Mirrors clear - Mordred Distorter - Mordred Kaleidoscope plasma - Cobra / Savage Tunnel - Mordred Torus & Sphere - Hopefully the inventor of the torus has been shot! Double Plasma - Pyro Fog Vectors (dat's what I called 'em!) - Mordred Lissajou robots - Sam/TFL-TDV (only he used Doom Sprites) Glenzing Plasma - ARM / Iguana End robots - Mordred (Idea for cocktails came from Pyro) Anything not mentioned - Mordred Mordred's lab notes : Re. Demo #131431, there seems to be a problem with "Missing Channels" on a friend of mine's GUS. I suspect it may just be due to his wierd stereo configuration, but if you get the same problems you have two options : #1 - somehow tweak your GUS into a "mono" mode. #2 - if you're using a GUS ACE, well then, use whatever it's plugged into. #3 - try SBOS and set it to Sound Blaster 1.X. #4 - write us a sound engine! :) The sound problems are with BWSB, and not with our code (still OTM, great sound engine though... I don't know what we would have done without it..) We WILL write a sound engine one of these years :), so who knows! Watch for a bugfix... ßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜ And now for a history lesson : ßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜ Sensorium (the FIRST Sensorium) started way back in 1995. The initial members were Mordred, IRQ, Midnight, Chronos, Mr.Wonka and Vindicator. This group did nothing, though it came VERY close.. so when it disbanded, I joined a different group (along with Vindicator) named thaILanD inC (yes, bad caps in the name) This group consisted of hanZo, Titan, X-Tseng, Vindicator, Pyro, Cobra, and myself. X-Tseng released a slow palette rotating intro (wow! A slow palette rotater), I released a few things (FOG!.ZIP, Rotate.ZIP). Pyro released a mini "Crap" demo (The rest of Sensorium is NOT affiliated with this little production.. ok, I helped with the fire, but that's it!!),Cobra released a fire and a very nice pixeltunnelthingi (which everybody thought was ripped, and it was) and then the inevitable split-up.. until one night, when I was talking to Vindicator and Mr. Wonka, I was informed that the group had been resurrected! Me and Vindicator.. hmm. Pyro started contributing in various ways (fonts, 3D objects) but then had to go to England. When he was gone, I started collecting code and threw together Inter Stellar Phenomenon. I'm quite proud of it, and it goes to prove that the island can actually bloody well release something! (Pyro's comments : Well.. maybe.. if you're feeling generous...) Vindicator then released 3 tunes.. Energize, Disillusion, and the very nice Positive Feedback. If you haven't gotten the last one, check it out! In my opinion, it's his best track to date (Aug. 7, 1996) He then released a very nice little tune called "Nagalicious" which is so.. so.. I dunno exactly how to describe it.. and then of course, we started working on Smoke & Mirrors. We threw code together, got Meat to make some music, drew robots (we had a great piccy of some robots doing impolite things but we didn't put them in) So it finally got finished and released. 17 years later. ßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜ Releases so far : ßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜ Sensorium SEN-ISP.ZIP - Inter Stellar Phenomenon (Summer '96..) Who knows? Let's see... Vindicator'll be releasing some songs in the near future probably, and if you're insane enough to want to listen to a musicdisk of his, please hit yourself over the head with nearest large metal implement and re-think your logic. Pyro's gone golfing permanantly, I think.. he's got the hat and everything! He was talking about doing a 3D golf thing.. We might (though I doubt it.. parents, money, and transport are the 3 major problems) get to ECLIPSE '97.. if it exists.. and if we can, don't worry. We'll release a demo there! And we are DEFINITELY (read : 50% chance) doing a demo for Simple. Further developments pending... It should be good, featuring cameras, environment mapping, 2D bump - and a few other surprises. ßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜ How to Contact us : ßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜßÜ #1 - Try e-mail.
