Not disk. Cassette tape. /\ / \ / \ / / As far as I can tell this is the first "proper" \ \ / / tape streaming demo on the Spectrum. Similar things \ \ / ______ have been done already, such as the Israeli Team ______ \ / / /\demo[1], story loaders like the one in /\ \ \ / / / /Moon strike[2] and game loaders like the one in \ \ \ \ / /_____/ / Joe Blade II[3]. There was also a C64 tape loading \ \_____\ \ \_____\/ demo called A Load Of Tap[4]. However, I think this \/_____/ \/ is the first time anyone has actually streamed \/ multiple effects from tape in one continuous load. If you know differently then let me know! :) If you try to run this in an emulator you will probably fail. This is because most emulators try to accelerate loading by default, and we really don't want them to do that. To get this demo to work you will need to turn off any "fast load" options as well as selecting 128k mode. On ZXSpin (www.zxspin.co.uk) you can do that like this: > Press F8 to get options > Choose the Hardware/Spectrum Model tab > Select 128k > Choose the Files/Tapes tab > Select Acceleration Method: None > Okay the changes > Now drag+drop "Ahh.tap" onto ZXSpin Greeting to the usual suspects, and thanks to Ne7 for the new ASCII Right.. I'm off for a long rest after spending far too much time counting t-states ;) ______ ______ \ / \ 1] www.youtube.com/watch?v=cfM0l55yP4w / \ 2] www.worldofspectrum.org/infoseekid.cgi?id=0003268 / _________\ 3] www.worldofspectrum.org/infoseekid.cgi?id=0002623 /_________ / 4] http://pouet.net/prod.php?which=49800 \ / \ _______/ Visit us online at atebit.org \_______ -------------------------------------------------------------[ nFO by !ne7 ]
