Walker Demo II by Imaginetics & Radical Systems
Hello there, First of all, apologies for the delay of WALKER II Demo (ST),this was due to several reasons, such as.... 1. Some interesting Amiga software I thought may help needed 'experimenting' with it didn't help, but I had fun playing with it..(lame). 2.I had a disk drive scare when it went whirr, screech, klerdunk ! (acceptably lame). 3.An important ST animation file got itself corrupted after 3 days of putting it together..fortunately an Amiga copier sorted it out !? (curiously lame). 4.Was getting fed up of seeing it every and often 'went for a long walk' to get away from it all (feebly lame). 5.Some friends kept coming round and playing games which they considered 'very very addictive (totally lame !!) Well, that's the excuses out of the way... Ok then, this is the follow up to the WALKER 1 Demo from Imaginetics,USA which in case you didn't know or came from the planet XNFFGRLLPK were and I still believe popular on the Amiga (1 meg). Now both Walker 1 and 2 are here with us on the ST. I must explain first that although Walker 1 was a reasonable 'clone' sadly it's not entirely the case of Walker II this is entirely due to the problem of available memory on the ST. Why does the Amiga WALKER II Demo work ok on a 1 meg Amiga but the ST version not I hear you ask ? It's really dead easy..it's because the Amiga original has a pretty small and flexible control program to run it This isn't true of the ST version due to the fact that despite repeatedly requests to colleagues and other programming people none of them can be bothered to write me one as they are into their own things.(thanx guys!) Had some nice helpful person come forward it would have been more likely you would get it 100 per cent identical(he said). If anyone and I mean ANYONE out there who feels they could help out then I'd be a bit more encouraged to do more Amiga-ST converts but my enthusiasm flags after a while trying to squeeze these things into ram sometimes. Anyway whinging over, here it is very slightly modified, true, but the main guts are all there and that's what counts (as my local psychopath would say). There is good news with Mega ST owners however, as my very good chum in Scotland is offering to stitch the COMPLETE 1 meg version together which ironically needs more than 1 meg to run it...fun,eh? Well that's all for now ,bye fer now...
