evil/dhs, january 28, 1999

belive it or not, but this crappy intro is actually made
to inspire people at attending to EIL'99. If it will
do that is a another question however :-) It was put together
this mornig from approx 06.00 to the time when this file is
saved (a bit after 10.00) So it might still have a bunch of
bugs.. if so, they are all (c) evil/dhs. I did do a few
dirty things to avoid a few problems. It wouldn't surprice me
one bit if that makes it fail on all other machines than my
own.

credits:

code - evil and gizmo / dhs
art of noise ssi player - tat / avena
art of noise module - tommy / avena

bugs:

the aon-ssi player is not ct2 happy, it will most probably
crash on ct2. that's why dr.evil invented the "anti ct2 crash-
technique" specially for this intro. hold alt while it starts
and the player will certainly not crash your ct2, becuase it
is never used. however, the rest of the code might crash it,
it's untested.

I decided to use the aon-module from tommy, because I don't
think that alot of atari people has heared it, it was featured
as a test-song for the preview-version of the art of noise
tracker on amiga. so, if you don't have a ct2, enjoy the
music! it's really great, and let's always remember tommy
for his music..

features:

well.. you can skip the darn intro-textslogans and the
ugly effect.. with space you "walk thru" the differnt
routines of the part-list in the little demosystem I use,
and sooner or later you end up at the text-display screen,
which btw is really crappy.

comments:

that effect looks ten times nicer with vga100 mode, it's
smoooth then, not like now.. chunky hunk.

warranty:

none. you're running this thing on your own risk.
it will autoset 60Hz on VGA and 50Hz on RGB.

final words:

see ya at eil!

erm, not quite, forgot to tell:

- intro works with falcon only, not st/ste/tt!
- 4mb ram (fastram supported..)
- not fpu demanding (can you belive?)
- vga, rgb, or tv supported, not sm124

so that's it then..

well, if 505 and the guys decides to release this at all..
which I wouldn't be surpriced if they decide not to :-)

maybe I'll be the lonesome coder a long way from home at
eil that has seen this junk. who cares, I will now icepack
the executable, and I fear that will take half a century.

.... end.
