Very Much Useless by Noice [web]
Release info ------------ Name: Very Much Useless/Noice Platform: Sega Dreamcast VMU Release Date: 2008-08-02 Code: Andreas Gustafsson aka. Shadow/Noice Graphics: Sven Ruthner aka. Ptoing/Prollcoder, Red Brand Running the demo ---------------- Use Dream Explorer and a Dreamcast to get it onto your VMU. Note that the existing VMU emulators are rather poor, so if you haven't got the real hardware, just view the video instead. History behind this demo ------------------------ After Ptoing had done graphics to my TI-83 demo "Two By Two" he said that he had an interesting platform that I should look into - the VMU. I started reading up about it, and was intrigued: 48x32 monochrome screen, CPU @ max 600kHz, 1024 bytes memory. And from what I gathered there hadn't been any scene releases for the VMU - virgin platform! So I bought a VMU for 25 SEK (about 3 euro) - cheapest demo platform ever! Well, at least until I found out that I had to buy a Dreamcast to be able to transfer anything I wrote the the VMU... Later I managed to track down a couple of small one-effect releases done for the VMU previously, so it turned out I wasn't breaking new ground after all. But at least I think I can say without bragging too much that this is the best VMU demo yet!
