New Features in OOTP 3
Completely redesigned Interface with menus, scroll bars and drag&drop,
featuring transparency effects for users with 3D graphic cards.
A terrific Coaches/Scouts system. Coaches directly influence the
development of your players. Scouts determine the player ratings you see
in the game.
A great newspaper system. Any interesting event, for example blockbuster
trades, no-hitters or a player hitting 3 homeruns in a game, will
generate an article for the OOTP news.
Much improved AI, making the game tougher.
The innovative challenge mode will keep you even more motivated! Nothing
will be editable in this mode, and after each season you will get a score
(1 to 100). If you reach more than 80 points, a file will be generated.
Email us the file and see if you're among the top 20 OOTP players. The
high-score list will be updated weekly and posted on this site!
Better financial engine, players now have a loyalty rating along with a
desire to play for a winning team rating. You will have a harder time
negotiating contracts as well.
The season importer has been tweaked as well, preventing players with
good stats in little playing time to become overused.
Much better trading AI, with adjustable trading frequency.
Redesigned player development, resulting in less predictable player
performances.
The Out of Town Scoreboard simulates other games while you are playing
your game. This will keep you updated and on the edge of your seat during
a pennant race!
More in-game options, for example bunting with 2 strikes.
The era manager lets you adjust the way baseball is played in your
league. For example, set the typical rotation size, the frequency for
pitching changes etc.
The park editor now offers the ability to use field background pictures
more effectively. You are able to enter the coordinates of each player on
the field!
Lots of 'little' things, for example better reports, editable team logos,
better play-by-play, more in-depth scouting reports, Newcomer of the Year
award and much more!
