Dramatic Pixels by Pers' Wastaiset Produktiot [web]
PWP PRESENTS: DRAMATIC PIXELS An experiment in dramatic storytelling using only three big pixels. Code, concept, design, music and coreography by Viznut. Released for the C-64 4K intro competition of Breakpoint 2010. As the size was closer to 1K than 4K to begin with, I've included a 1K version (and the source code thereof) in this package as well. The 1K version lacks the intro text and has some post-party optimizations. Everything was made from scratch in about two days, although the idea of an extremely minimalistic storydemo had been around for much longer, and I already wrote down the conceptual outline a couple of months ago. The concept of this demo also connects to my recent philosophical ponderings about the reductivist approach to computationally minimal art. Disclaimer: I hadn't even heard about skrju and triebkraft's recent Spectrum 256-byter named "A true story from the life of a lonely cell" before finishing my prod. All my respect to these guys as well; it seems that great minds indeed think alike! viznut@iki.fi http://www.pelulamu.net/viznut/ http://www.pelulamu.net/pwp/
