The idea was good to make it vertical in order to have more raster colours for the distance shading, but I would love to see the real horizontal one. Though, a color gameboy can be quite easilly rotated at 90 (unlike your heavy computer monitor or TV screen =) degrees so that this can be more enjoyable :)
perhaps the vertical thing is more about drawing the lines very fast...anyway it's cool with raycasters on gbc...r-lab has done a horizontal one
