Man, I dunno. I really don't want to be a killjoy or some overly-critical fuck but like, I'm such a big fan of the people behind this and I love what it's trying to do, the minimal shapes/colors, the sound design/direction, etc. The difficult thing is that it all feels a bit 80% to me - the perturbations are too regular/obvious, the accumulation in the rendering ruins any impact of the hard camera cuts as it blurs frames together, the sounds themselves all have the right vibe and tone but somehow lack impact, and the marching artifacts (which should add to the noisy look and help create the feeling of darkness and chaos) are too regular, making them feel cheap instead of contributing meaningfully. So instead of this dark awesome experience I'm left feeling a bit indifferent - in contrast to waillee, for example, which achieves exactly what I think this prod was trying to achieve, in a more coherent and polished way.
Obvious thumb here as there was clearly a lot of effort involved and I'm super into what I think this was going for. I just wish it actually got there.

That's a 4k extremely well spent. I dislike the constant sudden cuts with the camera and would personally prefer a more ambient approach with these visuals, but wow...
I almost missed with the fader to cut after the demo was showing on the big screen. And the crowd was so silent during the demo the cheering outburst at the end was so loud i jumped from my seat.

Love the rendering of different materials and textures making whole scene more convincing :)
Not bad at all. I like its distinct, almost impressionistic look.
One minor disappointment - the composition/music is so dramatized that you would think it will just all explode at the end through this Voronoi cracks.
But anyway, I like cellular patterns so much that I'm still satisfied ;P

I'm sorry to say I really want to like this more than I do.
It's very gritty, very nice, and I really enjoyl the first minute or so as it starts off *very* strong.
- The noise is very repetitive. Really enjoying the whacky land scape features, but the detail breaks the illusion. With current perf more octaves probably won't' do, but perhaps stretching it along an axis might give it more randomness and streaky features.
This is especially visible in the reflection and the wavy ocean-ish scene as well.
- The voronoi is too obviously a 2D projection & constant width/brightness makes it too regular.
- It goes on for too long.
The buildup for the first minute is great, but the repetition after 1:20 re-demonstrates the flaws.
Don't take this the wrong way, still a definite thumbs up :D but there's just too many irks for me to truly love it :) Can recommend not doing a final and throwing yourself at the next one because you guys will do even better next time!

This is pretty damn great! My only complaint would be that some of the objects are brighter in the reflections than they are when seen directly. Physics doesn't work like that ;)

shadertoy is also slower on my hardware. Which is good, because effects that run smooth on shadertoy will definitely do so on the compo hardware. I still wonder where the lags on shadertoy come from.

Some flaws are mentioned in the comments above, but this is still probably my favorite 4k for the year thus far.
