party version requires gf3. This time not much design. Oldschool effects and nice soundtrack from keen/trex & synSUN.

Go to hell with that shitty "only GF3" requirements...dis is da demos, not benchmarks......

go to hell with your dumb remarks please

Canonball, if you read nfo file then you understand why gf3. This is partyversion. Soon we will release gf2 and lower patch.

Looked nice - until it crashed
Look forward to patched version :)

hmmm, so good on a S3 Savage :)
Waiting for a slow-card version...
added on the 2002-09-12 05:53:15 by blaine blaine
even on my gf3ti200 it's kinda sluggish.. it's not too interesting anyway. music is nice, it's a shame to see it wasted on such an average demo 8)
added on the 2002-09-12 07:44:29 by bhead bhead
why is your zoomblur so slow? :-D
this is very nice. though fucking slow
rulez added on the 2002-09-12 09:00:48 by raymon raymon
macaw: because we patented the fast one ;)
added on the 2002-09-12 09:06:57 by superplek superplek
you have a fast one? odd , shall we benchmark? dxm . zoom/radialblur vs. the dutch? (accel, but sw is ok to;-))

my pleasure, i'll make up some specifications =)

i don't know why it so slow, upi is coder :) Anyway, in saturday we gonna make a patch. So, wait for two days :)
added on the 2002-09-12 10:23:00 by night_ night_
this is a very nice one.

one thing about requirements. there is a different opinion everyone has BUT new technology CAN/ MIGHT mean new effects or at least more splendid in case used correctly. now here is a solution how to leave the circle of returning effects so we've got to make the move.

It's great or even better if this is NOT limited to a certain hardware or if a patch is released but it has to be tested and tried first. there will be many new demos and fastly evolving hardware so make use of it if it looks good and also looks good as code. :)

just my opinion.

a little bit strange in my eyes...
but not bad!

I have been watching a fucking lot of demos in the past few months now, and this is the _only_ demo that didn't make me press ESC. Runs quite smoothly on my gf4ti4600 too :)
rulez added on the 2002-09-13 08:03:38 by kurli kurli
a kewl one,
effective design + very nice effects + massive soundtrack..

some effects are a bit slow, but it's still quite enjoyable.

nice..
rulez added on the 2002-09-14 16:50:38 by moolok moolok
Yeah! We did it. Here's patch for geforce2 and lower video cards -> PATCH . Replaces effect in 4th scene by not so good lookin' effect, but it works. Even faster :)
added on the 2002-09-15 00:43:42 by night_ night_
Well, demo stops with and without patch after the same time (some time after the 'collapse' screen is displayed, probably when the mentioned effect should be shown)
added on the 2002-09-15 03:00:40 by Crest Crest
Same situation here. Hangs after the 'collapse' part (gf2).
added on the 2002-09-15 10:10:54 by tomaes tomaes
hangs here too. (gf1)
added on the 2002-09-15 13:58:24 by sagacity sagacity
Hey. It's very strange. We check for Textured3d and if it's ok, than run gf3 version else run gf2 and lower version(we change effect but another). I think, that driver tells us, that he suppots 3dTexture, but he doesn't. Mmmm... I think we should wait for upi, he knows what to do :)
added on the 2002-09-15 14:10:32 by night_ night_
Hangs after 3rd effect (Geforce2mx)
added on the 2002-09-15 14:16:30 by Wain Wain
um, my drivers don't expose 3d-textures. (in d3d anyway)
added on the 2002-09-15 14:44:14 by sagacity sagacity
sagacity: We used openGL. BTW, thanks for betatesting :) I think we should make GF2 patch, where the manual videocard selection is available :) aaaarh, soon :)

2ALL: IF YOU DONT HAVE GF3 or HIGHER, DEMO WORKS ONLY TO 4TH SCENE. In 4TH SCENE GF3 COMPARTIBLE EFFECT. WE WILL REMOVE IT, so New patch will be soon :)

night_: how do i subscribe to a recent patch updates?
added on the 2002-09-16 11:09:24 by ramzai ramzai
just read yomoma.ru :) BTW, I think we are becoming like Microsoft :) One patch patches the partyversion, second one patches first one's changes :)

night_: that is the thing i meant :)

Despite reading the above warnings, I decided to try the patched version on my GeeWhiz2 MX400. It diamondied my computer part way through.
Also waiting for the patch...

I saw it. I liked it. But had to see it in window mode, cos it cocks up in full screen. gf4ti4200

It's pretty cool. I like the music a lot.

Okey, okey, Wait for sunday. We haven't much time now, so wait-wait-wait a little :) Soooooon :)
added on the 2002-09-19 22:20:41 by night_ night_
mmm luv that deep bass ... runs well on my G4Ti4200 - would be nice to have control of the rez - yes the radial light effect is impressive. bad stuff - too many words for me and too obtrusive - sound loop seam needs smoothing and cuts off too quickly at the end.
rulez added on the 2002-09-21 11:33:56 by Zzed Zzed
Yeah! Here's come new PATCH. Now you can choose your videocard by yourself.
added on the 2002-09-22 18:53:17 by night_ night_
it actually works now! pretty slow though :)

the same as sagacity.
added on the 2002-09-22 21:16:47 by Sanx Sanx
what exactly is diffent with the low version? (it looks quite the same but is quite a lot faster)
added on the 2002-09-22 21:43:44 by raymon raymon
"Looser" or "winner"?? I picked the former because I like to hang loose.

At any rate, the demo no longer crashes, but does run quite slow on my card. Oh well, ya pays yer money, ya takes yer chances...
The same here. Runs quite slow, but it runs now. Looks nice and I like the soundtrack.
added on the 2002-09-23 01:25:58 by Crest Crest
2 raymon and All: "looser" version doesn't use 3d texures in 4th scene. But "winner" version does. That's why "looser" version bit faster. Effects (with and without 3dtextures) are almost the same, but upi likes "winner" version with 3d textures ;) Anyway, I don't like this scene at all ;)
added on the 2002-09-23 10:15:57 by night_ night_
BTW: In 5th scene(where something like stars) there abot 100K of triangles in scene, so this should run _very_slow at GF2 anf lower ;)
added on the 2002-09-23 10:20:23 by night_ night_
good, strange music but coherent with the visuals
the fire effect and the last effect are very slow on my P4-1.8Ghz+GeF.ti4200.128 : strange
the end seems unfinished
rulez added on the 2002-09-23 23:48:39 by Zone (leZone) Zone (leZone)
zone: the end is unfinished ;) We did it right before democompo and hadn't much time to finish it right ;)

ok demo. nothing intresting, simply 3d (night, na hera tam 100000 poligonov???) and ok music. but, I don't want watch it again.
added on the 2003-07-21 08:12:03 by qaz qaz
100000 polies is a result of upi's extremal 3d modelling ;)
It's ok, if you don't want to watch it again. I don't watch the OYE ;) We are just different, man! ;)

We were working with willy/synsun for 3 hours with the music part and I am really happy with the result, the demo with "Guana Apes" tune got the first place in the compo...

upi&night: let's do one more demo!!!
