This is actually Nokia 3410 mobiledemo but it is written in Java Microedition so this was the closest match. Works on nokia nS40 emulator.

This is unfinished.. i can release the screenplay later. Also 6310i version is easy to do. It doesn't even try to show any mighty coder skills. And yes.. Nokia API and tools do SUCK! Also only way to test this piece was through WAP. I am eager to see my next phonebill. In that sense, Siemens is much better platform. Eh.. do I sound like a bad loser?

you sound like a patriot - nokia.fi vs siemens.de (:

Hmm.. Something like 90% of Nokia is owned by foreign investors. Also I could easily port this to any MIDP phone, what I propably will not do, cos mybe I could spend more than day to do something more final next time.

Point was that the 3410 was only Java phone with reasonable price (200e vs sl45:550e) before these future saviours of demoscene really hit the market. In a year we propably have wide variety of devices with working API:s (Nokia and Siemens have both very buggy environment) and better perfomance. Platform will be same in every device. You can download the demo at the busstop and watch it in your way to work. Demos will become more and more onetimeshots because they are easily deleted and there will not be enough memory for years. Making emotional or demos with story becomes more important. ("In your dreams!"- I can hear them say in norweigian accent.) Still the best part is that you can develop stuff to these machines with free software and without hard-to-get-flash-cards or mysterious expensive cables.

Have you been reading too much Wired mags from the late nineties, virne?

Just kidding, nice entry ;) Lay off the futurism crackpipe though.

hmm, has anyone tried to make this run on a series-40 class phone ?
looking forward to see it on my 3100.

tried to put this on planet-d. i already had put midlets on my site, it worked, but this one doesn't, my phone refuses to finish to install the midlet, telling me it's corrupted.
do nokia phones perform compatibily checks after downloading a midlet ? like checking if the midlet is linked to the good midp profile and stuff..

if some experts could try and tell me what's wrong :)

seems like it really needs a 3410 to work... tried first on 3510i and couldn't download it, with 3410 i got it running without problems. and for the sake of love and god i hope nobody has anymore 3410's in their hands - terrible phone. :)

the demo is cool, though.

finally managed to download to a 3510i.
it's nice to see something like stickman on a mobile phone.
Weird. Very.
>>hmm, has anyone tried to make this run on a series-40 class phone ?
It installs fine on a 6230, but then displays "Invalid File" if you try and run it.
