A nice intro (from what I can say after watching a slideshow), but it's a good advise to wait for a final version if you don't have a *really* fast machine. Again good sound as in previous Fairlight releases

Ran just fine on my AMD 650 / GF2/GTS. I like the style and the feeling, the scene with the running person in the start feels a bit like H7 .. well, good production in a -very- good competition.

this production gives hand to former released flt prods. nice ...

It has a nice "The truth is out there" feel to it, runs kinda slow on my GF2Ti. The music is good.

some scenes ran at about 5 fps on my TB1300+GF4 - for no apparent reason (i counted 4 polys in the opening scene)

Very Beautiful indeed.
Not the same old stuff as I've seen before, It's quite different, And The Music Is Outstanding!!

no idea why its so slow on some configs, it always runs at a decent frame rate (20+) on my machine (1400, gf2). and even runs much better than the 5ps you quote on my amd k6-2 400 with gf2. so im guessing something else is amiss. maybe its a driver issue, or an os issue, or whatever, i dunno, cos ive never seen it run that bad on any machine i tried it on.

however, we were quite fucked in the compo results.

doesn't even start on my radeon8500.

Runs ok on my computer (K7-600, gf2mx), not very fast though. Nice to watch, cool athmosphere.

Great music and feeling. Kinda unwatchable on my machine but I would have liked it on the top 3 anyway.

The start is very good and atmospheric. I really like that zooming into the distance where you could see some birds. I also like the black and white kinda rendering, it adds to the atmosphere.

But i dont like that running spacecreature :)

Anyway it gets a thumb up for a nice concept and good start.

Tried it in windowed mode, ran slow as hell .. as mentioned i didnt have any problems in fullscreen

Quite nice. The music felt a bit weak at points and the gfx weren't all that great all the time but i enjoyed the b&w rendering stuff. That and the zooming/out-of-focus effects created a nice 'eerie' feeling to the intro.

btw. smash: you happy now that you got 'beaten by way better intros'?:D

Very nice "old film" effect.
It was quite fluid on my pc, but the scene were a bit too slow for the atmosphere.
The text spacing was irritating.
anyway, thumb up!

liked this one on the bigscreen, at home on my monitor it's not that impressive (textures look a bit weird sometimes), but still I kinda like that X-files atmosphere. probably a lil' unfinished and placed too low imho (and that's probably why smash looked kinda down back there at the 'hartwall entrance chillout zone' 8))

not actually my favorite from fairlight. actually i think the quality is dropping a tad. starting with vodka factory at hype..
we want ET-tv 2 :<
Fantastic intro. Runs like a charm, cool music, the post filtering is great, and it makes you wonder what is it that the alien is running from. Maybe lacks more content to be truly great, but I loved every bit of it.

It looked like this could be a cool production, but I was one of those people who got nothing more than a slideshow. A pity. (1.3 GHz, GeeWhiz2 MX400)
The concept was nice, but I didn't quite like the outcome. It takes forever to precalc and after that it's still way too slow. Music was ok.

I like the beginning. Software engine but slow...

Optimus: What software? :) It says "Needs OpenGL" :)

Cool intro overall
rulez added on the 2003-05-16 13:48:46 by Gargaj Gargaj
it did indeed look like software at the start, cause the shadow was unfiltered (if it's a texture)

pretty nice tho, effects were fairly good (especially the noise texture parts), textures were nice too, also music.
rulez added on the 2003-10-24 15:22:54 by psonice psonice
psonice: it probably looks unfiltered due to alpha-testing of the shadow-texture.
