Hah, the tAAt guys are sitting next to me right now so I can't diss it too much :P. But I'm guessing selfvoting helped get this to 2nd place quite a bit. Nothing special.

Love it! No overly complex or oozing code quality, but a good idea and a nice-looking effect.
I have to say, I'd rather 4ks with one effect that is really polished, rather than 12 'coder' effects.
Looks nice and runs also quite smooth
nice
phoenix: correction, the tAAt guys are everywhere! =) but i agree, i have seen better 4k's.. nothing special.
yeah taat mafia has invaded the place once again.. pretty nice 4k tho. 8}
nice
Looks very nice
pretty
Does some nice stuff with a sphere, but would've been nicer if it returned my desktop resolution after exiting.
uh-oh. bad music, one ugly effect...
hmm.. I liked parts of the effect, but it didn't look good all the time.. anyway..
tAAt should stop votefaking...
tAAt should stop votefaking...
I'm the author of this 4k intro. I submitted this production as made by "tonic" in the Assembly as is shown in the official results as well. For fun I put the release pack to be a tAAt production, but almost no members knew that this was going to be kind of tAAt release. So please don't accuse of vote faking when there is none. Of course this is just my word against yours.
And about accusations of tAAt faking votes generally : If you still didn't know, almost every tAAt member is actually also a serious scener in some other group(s) and most of the members really don't care about voting tAAt at all.
As I said in an AssemblyTV interview, the group tAAt is partly just an alternative label for doing humorous stuff for fun, we don't force our members to vote for tAAt or anything. This is just as somebody in Hugi diskmagazine called for - that famous groups would use alternative labels to release joke prods so that they don't get name voted unfairly.

tonic: the thing about releasing your intro by just you makes it even easier to accuse you of votefaking since the rule "don't vote for your own production" still applies. that means, that if all of tAAt voted for this one, noone could have said anything about it.
oh well whatever..
oh well whatever..
effect was quite nice..
Don't know why people is trying to dis tAAt for everything, even when the production is not related to tAAt.
do I remember right? -> "NAFTA by tonic"

Leia, I don't see your point there. Remember the fact that individual compo entries are shown and voted as anonymous entries. Only a few of my friends even knew that I made a 4k intro and even them didn't know that the release pack would have tAAt info file in it. This intro is not a joke, I just added taat infos to the release pack for kicks. If the intro is crappy, well, don't watch it then. It's my very first 4k intro. Even though I have been coding around in demoscene for way over 10 years, this is the first time I made and released a 4k intro.
Did you even read my previous message? As I stated, tAAt's members are from over 80 other different groups. The ones which are of the type caring for voting themselves or their friends, do you really think they vote for joke tAAt productions instead of their own productions or for productions of their actual friends?

It's a happy one ;-)
i'll give this thumbs up for being the first release crediting me for my tiny opengl init code :-D
tonic: I did read your prev comment, and I did understand it, and I just explained to you what it would look like to people.
Anyway I have nothing against your intro at all, and I think it deserved a top3 placement. The only problem is that I feel that it should have gotten third place (possibly second, but then 1 and 3 should have switched places first). Keep ut the good work!

Thanks. I won't say anything about the results other than I'm happy with the results and I would have been happy with 3rd placement as well.
But I hope next time you feel some production doesn't deserve its place, please don't blame tAAt for fake voting it up. :-)

Fine variations with a good music synch.
no music here. NAFTA tears up the earth...
Amazing :)
føkking nice!
i don't get it. this is a fucking sphere with simple deformation and vertex-noice of some kind. audio doesnt work here, but the readme states that it is midi. what has happened to the pc-scene? is this the best we can do? the two amiga-intros were superiour, we have to do better. lets make some kickass 4k's for asm03.
(by the way, this is not intended as critisism against tonic. nice try)

Kusma, your description is pretty accurate :-)
And it's true, the amiga 4k's have traditionally been often more impressive than PC 4k's. Some have said that it's harder to do small sized stuff on PC than on amiga, though personally I have no idea if it's true since I have never coded on amiga.

its ofcourse easier to do smaller stuff on fixed hw. thats prety obvious, isnt?
Incredible
Nice :) Pretty good music for 4k intro.
Good music, and an incredibly well done effect. Great
great
rather horrible for a 2nd place (and otherwise too)

Nice indeed, the music rox

uhm... i don't like the music :] but the fx is nice.
Striking effect!
yes not a bad 4k, but i was against the music, which i found simple
Nice one.
A simple effect, but well executed.
hm... the music sucks really ^^ but the effect is kewl. so --> piggy
hmm
cool one from a few years ago.
nice
a quite nice effect completely ruined by a boring/standard presentation.
