Thanks for the kind words. This was a firstie on many levels: first time with the Pico-8, first time with Lua, first release as a "coder" and apart from the starfield and basic 3D, all other effects were a first time too - I spent the 2 weeks preceding the party reading documentation on twisters and rotozoomers and experimenting with sine scrollers.
I had only been active in the scene as a musician on the Amiga back in 1988-1990 until I stumbled upon the scene again in 2010... so yes, my heart always goes back to those golden years because they have a special meaning to me. What could be seen as a crowdpleasing attempt is actually a meandmyselfpleaser above all :)

Going straight 1988 isn't such a crime on a platform like the Pico-8, and although this demo isn't particularly innovative, the execution is on point. Also, that tune and the whole firstie thing. :)
