Holy shit, the lighting and colors on the spacecut thingy, amazing scenes and fx all around!
seems like they cramed in some random abstract 3d-objects and effects into an ashtray. nice music and overlay-filters. deserves no thumb from me. piggie.

Only things I don't ABSOLUTELY LOVE about this are the spinning logo thing, the framerate, and the length. Almost the perfect demo. SO GOOD. :D
I've been expecting it for a while, but with this demo Epoch has definitely entered the "major league". Superb style and visuals, enough content (a little repetition is OK if it's a techno demo :)) and that soundtrack, omg! Fantastic work guys.

To do this, a 6 minute techno demo at Assembly, that takes balls. Hats off for that alone. To do it well, even more respect.
Point of contention though - the compression-glitch thing. It looks "authentic" sure, but first off, the grid was always uniform (all blocks on screen are always the same size, in reality they wouldn't be) which kinda killed the feel a bit, and I think in a lot of the cases you were trying to use it to hide the effect, which is always suspicious. It's a good filter, but don't let the flavoring become the flavor.

I don't know what to say, but I just want to thank you guys for making this because it made a real connection with me. It's just fucking amazing and it just puts me back in a place and time when I was young, going to techno clubs and listening to Jeff Mills and all the fun I had back then.
As was said on the oneliner, the AssemblyTV captures seem to be in mono this year so I would advise to watch the executable instead for the best techno experience!

scooper22: sadly that one is even more fucked (already informed oasiz), for some reason the shaders-based effects run WAY too fast on it and most of the time lose all sync. It's probably due to vsync, but we'll look into it. I'll try to make a proper capture tonight.

As much as I want to love it, I can only like it. I watched it for the fifth time now, and I really like the visuals and music - but somehow not together.
The tune feels cold and slick as a canteen kitchen, while the visuals transport a fair amount of grime. Either a proper Noise tune or less glitch it'd have been for me.

A bit mixed about this, so ok from me.
Don't quite get the hype on this one to be honest. A bit too long considering the amount of content, and music got kind of repetitive.
Still, some nice effects, even though they sometimes were a bit too hidden behind the glitch-filter. Piggie it is!

This is awesome! Excellent visuals, fitting soundtrack. Would have liked a more aggressive industrial like track though. :) Still, totally awesome demo!

This looks very nice and explores some interesting visual concepts. Black and white doesn't feel like a gimmick, it feels appropriate. Some pleasing liquid effects, nice use of layering, different use of noise that you usually see. With all those zebra stripes you're starting to make me think of Quite (;
Criticism:
The what looks to me like reading the Normal-Z buffer moment could be cut. I'd also have cut the logo and the non-stripey part of the kaleidoscope. Also the angular fake-glass 3D image looks good until around 4:59 and a few other places when it suddenly looks cheap as the effect falls away. Those things feel out of place.
Overall too long. Needed to focus on what appear to be the core elements--the stripes, the "landscape", the triangle, the liquid tunnel.
The music didn't seem to go anywhere very much. I wish I could give more helpful feedback on that.
I would watch this again, in snippets at least.

This is so strong, good shit. For me the glitches wore thin after a while, I wasn't sure what the intent was. I think there's some interesting possibilities with the kind of travelling/flowing glitches you get in digital video where a keyframe is lost.

There's too few effects in to fill up almost 7 minutes. Sure you distorted a lot of the scenes and overlayed a lot of stuff together. But this is a fairly minor complaint.
Overall the technical side is damn good. Soundtrack is absolutely awesome. But t and nice style overall. Keep it up.

This was my favourite demo from the compo! Loved the style, glitches, atmosphere and music. Runs smoothly on my laptop as well! A bit too long for my taste but still very enjoyable.
Gray, barcodes, famous quotes, and the effects are like, done. The main peeve is that the promised prism collision never happens though. Even if you repeat it enough times :) Glitchfest, maybe one for those who like to get high but not my cup of tea.
