Since it says apophysis in the tools, I assume the modeling was done in that and the exe is a stripped down implementation of the fractal flame algorithm.

I just fooled around with Apophysis a bit and thought that this might fit into 4k. The hardest part was to reduce the noise although it already uses more than 300 million samples. It gets really clean at about 1 billion samples but that would have taken 2 minutes to calculate :)
muhmac, a density estimating filter massively reduces the number of samples needed. No space for that in 4k probably :p
