Dunno if it is a scene prod... Hmm.
Nothing against the game, thou.

sim: i don't get it. so which one game IS "scene prod" and which isn't? there are thousands of games on pouet, and you (i presume) can distinguish them all, with this criterion?
the guy is a part of zx spectrum scene focused on 'wos' forum. now he came to zx81. he takes no money for his massive effort. he makes all of it only for sinclair scene.
and finally - there is a "games" section on pouet.
so tell me why this one is less suitable here, that hundreds of shitty intros and other crap.

That's a funny question.
Since, the 8bit scenes are so small and a game released is rare and usually made by a scene member they are added regardless if they were released in a demoparty or not. But the same wouldn't apply on PC except if a game is released at a party competition. Because if it did, then pouet would be flooded with hundred of indie games released by people out of the scene. Still, if you did a game, were member of the scene, but it wasn't released at a demoparty would it be here? In CPC it makes sense since you rarely see releases at meetings, most stuff are released outside (Orion Prime is here, a game by sceners, not released at a party). So, in a nutshell I am a bit confused but I think it's ok for rare game releases in 8bits.

Why are you "agressive" Johny? By your statement you may give an impression that you are right and no discussion allowed.
Optimus got the point, what I wanted to express (but did not directly =).
Before I commented, I had a small reconaissance for the ZX81 prods. AfaIr correctly, there are 3 games in pouet's DB.
I am not down with ZX(81) world so can not judge nor say YES/NO to the prod (what you can feel in my first comment) and know was it done by the scenner (or not).
ZX81 is a tiny, old platform, so perhaps we have a different approach for it.

Moreover, ppl shoud give it a try before they comment/thumbing it.
Do not think it is reasonable to give a vote only because it is a rare platform.

it looks like a perfect clone, specially when it comes to object behaviours. i consider bad graphics are caused by the character mode. but animations like rock falling, moving creatures etc. are smooth. i passed a few levels, tried level code feature, redifined keys and they all work as expected. great complete game, congratulations.
@sim&optimus: it's simple dudes. when you see a game released outside of a party, you just ask if the producers are sceners or not (if you don't know them personally). if they are sceners and you don't know them, express your apologies. if they are not sceners, you'd become the hero of the day and save pouet's database. it's better than trolling. :)

Skate, fellow, noone is trolling.
=).
=).
Skate: oh believe me, this graphic is beautiful use of TXT mode (technically - the only mode on ZX81).
some people use zx81 as door stop, others code with it, hehe nice work :p
A prod is a release for the demoscene. A game is a prod if the author makes it clear that he made it for other sceners. If the game is released for the public domain or someplace making money off games, it's not a prod. So it doesn't have anything to do with if it's free or costs money, or if the author happens to be in the scene when he releases it. He might release it to get attention to join a good scene group, for example.
It even works on a very old mid-nineties ZX81 emulator on my ST which rules :-) Nice game, but definitely needs the user definable key option.

that actually does matter (a lot, even)

??? Would you pay for a demo??? I might have some for you then...
Hi CiH, press "R" for redefine keys. (I had the same problem, I didn't noticed it first time playin' ;) ).
Cheers, I already found that one. If running the game in the Atari ST emulator it helps to rename the file extender from *.p to *.81 first.
birkin: see my last sentence.
baah: see the sentence before the quoted one.
I was addressing the question of if it's a scene prod or not. If it's released to make an impact on the scene and nothing else, it's a scene prod.
