Hehe,. it's not what it says (nor would I believe it's possible in the stock Amiga), but might be using different sprite which change light (or in that tiny size it's possible to sort of calculate something that looks like). I remember other vector balls with presaved sphere sprites with light at different angles. I wish this one was a bit bigger.
