tried to install det redistributable, still doesnt work..

Great thanks to enex for helping out with debugging my problem, it's finally solved. Should now run on all (?) machines. ;-)
For those who're interested: The issue was twofold, firstly I needed to add the Microsoft.VC80.CRT-assembly (bah, and this isn't even managed) somewhere the binary could find it (using a proper manifest), and secondly I needed to compile SDL_image in non-debug mode *rolls eyes*.
The SDL_image.dll I compiled for the demo was using MSVS80-runtimes, so I compiled it using MSVS60-runtimes instead, meaning it relies on something a bit more common. :)
