Note: You'll need to obtain GW-BASIC from somewhere else to run this (should be fairly easy with Google). Runs fine under Windows 2K/XP, but usage of VDMSound is recommended to hear the simple sounds.

Ah, and BTW. this is an entry in the BASIC demo compo, not the dynamic demo compo.
The effect seen in the screenshot was rather cool. The texts were somewhat funny, though would have been better without the color changes.
Hehe, cool shit.. but it would have been more fun if it actually was music instead of that weird sound all the time.

Is that Gwbasic you said? I didn't knew someone could do such graphics and effects with this (reagarding the screenshot. Haven't tried it yet). Wow! I should check the code..
And does Gwbasic plays Adlib/SB music?!?!?!?!? How??? I don't know Quickbasic doing this..
Weird music? Ah,. ok.. probably sending some values in midi port..
A_Lee_N, yeah, I blame lack of time. Also the music player is updated with GOSUB from all the effects and so, which means the "music" stays better in shape if it needs only infrequent updates. If the computer is shitty, FPS could be lower when the music wouldn't work very well in that case unless the tempo is slow. And yes, this prod tries to do the timing in at least somewhat sensible way, not in "for a=1 to 100000:next a" style. :)
Optimus, just use OUT to write params to the adlib ports 0x388 and 0x389 - adlib programmign works that way with any language having functionality to write in hw ports. Check out some adlib/sb specs and read the source.. :)
Greets to tukka.

tArzAn: Thanks!
Also, the only thing I didn't liked in basic compos was the fact that poke is not allowed. I only write qbasic demos this way but this way you get something that doesn't look like shitty basic but fast VGA effects. I don't know. There were basic compos rarely in demoparties, but our quickbasic community (in www.neozones.com and other sites) never managed to produce something like the best quickbasic demos there. It would be great that quickbasic sceners would connect a little with the regular demoscene through these compos..
