I think it's quite ugly as well. Ugly is not the best word, but I didn't find it particularly stylish. Music sounded nice though.
When I first saw the rendering style my expectations when right down the drain. But the production surprised me and was actually very decent.

Some scenes are bad, some are very nice. I don't like the black horizontal lines on top but I can ignore them ;) The music actually worked very well with most parts.
