I think that the purpose of the background was to have a rotating Lemon *Logo* as opposed to just having the single color name.
We were making this while at the party and if I remember correctly Facet needed some extra time to complete his competition image so we had to choose between that or a logo to rotate behind the mouse. We contemplated, gave way for the competition image and I simply but a single color image into the rotator.

Oh we also blatently abused the large screen at the party for promotion purposes.
The end screen of this intro simply displays 'See you Somewhere In Holland' as a reference to our upcoming party. No 'the end' or anything and it took the organisers in denmark about a minute to figure that out, much longer than the crowd needed to pay attention to the message :)
