this demo was a kick for a lot of people to start making demos. dancing girl, converted from c64, was a smash hit to compare every new animation on speccy for a long time, though for me it is not really the most impressive part, i think the swinging bottle in the lake is much more atmospheric. all in all the best effects there are animations in fact but who cares, alltogether it's an amazing piece. and an instant classic on speccy for sure!

and the dancing girl rulez too
It's very cool for it's time..
in fact, every part (maybe except last one) came with something really new. and not really THAT much of animations - isn't vector scroll around the bottle enough? what about the sinus balls? take a look on the colouring the scroll in sample part, rounded attr scrolly in second part? well, Poland was the demo kingdom, this can't be ever changed.

spent endless hours with the bottle part and a digital part. love it!
superb classic!
First demo I ever saw. I was spend ages reading the scrollers!
One of the best Polish demos and one of the best classic stuff for ZX Spectrum 48K and AY interface.
By the way, the title should be "The Lyra 2" because the name is a joke. In slang we call "delirium tremens" state as "delira". :)

It was so good, they made a remake on the Sam! :)
What a lovely megademo. Amazing part on the screeny.
I loved the girl part too (and the great tune) I'd run it a lot on the Amiga back, I 'll check the C64 too now. Long time i didn't watch Hollywood poker pro intro, so sweet http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1tCKJG6x2o

Well that just pissed on my cornflakes :(
I thought the dancing girl part was original :(

Oh, don't worry too much, Carbon. I had similar thoughts years ago but finally - these were such times simply. The same effect is in some C64 demo, maybe one in Atari XL if I recall.
Converting effects from other platforms was popular back in the days.
Maybe even now it is, but contemporary effects are not so... recognizable. :)

fat shit
nostalgy )))
Video please?
hmm... I can't see very much about this one...
I use Spectaculator and I see only the 1st part of the demo... Someone can tell me how to see the next parts?

Favourite demo my childhood
SoDa7: should go with 'space' (short pressed).
Use configs like 48K+AY or 128. Supposedly doesn't work on +2A/+3 (freezes on the 'bottle' part).
And OF COURSE use "usr0" mode.

Didn't know about the name :) Hehehe! We always wondered why the hell is it named Lyra, because lyra an old Greek musical instrument :) And we knew 'Bratislavska Lyra' as a singers' TV competition in former Czechoslovakia. Classic demo anyway. The scrollers rule. Music, effects. Very classic. And it is for 48K.
Legendary ZX experience. unforgettable scenes with madonna (?), bottle and digitized music with scroll. Outstanding megademo.
best!
oh... nice demo.... first view it in 1992 year from tape... yeeeeeeeerrr!!!! =))))
Well this is impressive as HELL.

Together with Shock, one of the greatest early Spectrum demos.
Everything that they said. Rulez!
for the circle vector scroller part.
That diver said. First demo i've ever seen.
From speccy.info and these threads, I know what most of the music for this is and I have put together a playlist of the original tracks.
I need a little help finishing this, though!
Does anyone know what the music for the first two parts is? Is the second part (before the bit with the bottle) an original composition? Is the first part simply inspired by Star Wars, or Meco Star Wars, or some other Star Wars inspired disco song?

Oh sorry, wrong link, here is the playlist.
classic girl!
Pretty oldschool!
And then it breaks. What kind of emulator you use to play the Lyra 2? I am lucky, I managed to run first scroller and two first scenes, and then I got basic error. :(
