well.. the only people who feel truly defensive about AI are those who most likely will lose job/sense of life cause of it, eventually as a risk. the rest is just new era to be learnt. - regarding scrapping though. perfectly fits to dead internet theory unfortunately, which is just another reason why Web should die and be replaced by something less bloated (technologically), cluttered (content wise) and misleading (social media just needs to die!)
- seems like everybody who scraps is aware that there will be a counter-fight eventually so they want to grab as much as possible, before web closes its door
- Counter-fight => closing up public access, banning/filtering out whole IP ranges. Creating tech that blocks in more automatic way. Skipping web as primary client app. Many ways that can be cheap.
- a fallback to local communities is what exactly works to me on telnet BBSes.. much less noisy, much more constructive as well. Social Media/Networks is failed experiment hoping that everybody can talk to everybody in balance. That could never work for long.
