pouet 2.0 bugs me beautifull

category: general [glöplog]
Are there maybe prods without comments among them?
without comments? - no!
without new comments - maybe, dont know.

just added 3 more prods, after removing one, so 5 on watchlist, shows 3.
then added 5 more, 10 on watchlist, shows 3.
It's a known bug.

There's a few annoying bugs in the new mobile layout. Open pouet.net -> get mobile site. Tap "switch back to desktop version" at the bottom. Page re-loads, but it loads the mobile site again. Try again, 2nd time it loads the desktop site.

That's on iOS 7.0.3, iphone.

(and yes, I keep switching it back to the desktop site - the mobile site would be preferable if it remembered which sections I had open last time, but it doesn't so i have to keep finding + opening them every time, which gets annoying fast).

I'll probably move the mobile rendering to m.pouet.net somewhere down the line.

I second doing that. I cannot find the switch for the mobile layout and I have been unable to log in to Pouet from my phone* so if it's in the account screen, I can't get there.

* Windows 8 Phone, IE10 Mobile. I am able to log in to Nectarine and it does persist. The site itself renders as best it can for any desktop layout squished in to a mobile viewport size.
I thought about posting

Just how long can a long oneliner message be if a oneliner message wanted to be long and wasn't long enough but strived to be longer while continuing on being long in process of trying to be longer if it could be longer because while wanting to be longer is not a long problem the site may want to limit length of long oneliner posts and may not be checking the length of long oneliner posts anymore despite the site's source saying the size of the input is 50, which is actually only an advisory number and does not limit the amount a given input such as this long oneliner can be as the server code doesn't check sizes.

In to the oneliner to make a statement, but that's probably not the best idea. The oneliner is not checking sizes server-side (intentionally or not) which allows anyone to post something up to the limit of the size of the database column. I was able to post something 271 characters long without the intention of being so wordy, but perhaps there should be some sort of enforced limit. It's a oneliner; not so much if I can post a book. :)

About the same amount of wood that a wood chuck would chuck if a wood chuck would chuck wood.

gargaj: looks like the opened sections are remembered too now (after a quick test on desktop), is that the case?

Nice to see the youtube icon in the one-liner btw :D

I think that's been like that for a week now or so.

Known or not / bug or not, here we go.
It would make sense to print the CDC suggestions in form "(Demo name) by (group name)" at account page's coup de coeur form. A problem case:

Noted - lemme see if I can do something about it.

fixed

nice, but it doesn't work with the prods that doesn't have a linked group/author (try to CDC this one).

That happens. Fixed now.

As promised (if anyone cares) this is Pouet's rendering on IE8:

It's pretty f*cked up. Let me know is IE8 compatibility is worth checking...

i don't know if that is bug but wasn't there a search autocomplete feature on an early version of pouet 2.0? was it removed on purpose?

There wasn't.

I think we should add "This prod is fake" as an option in the dropdown list. For one, it saves a post in that particular thread we all know of, and it lets you notify someone about it in private which might be useful in case the moderator notified can poke around and the notifier doesn't leave themselves out in the open to be potentially sought after by the submitter of the prod in question. Perhaps it could also include a field as to why they think it's fake, if necessary.

Just a thought. Not a high priority thing if anything. Most prods uploaded seem to be real and things that should be here.
Hm, to be honest I don't think we get that much fake prods...
Not to mention that the requests lists is already pretty crowded with options.

anyone else unable to log in using firefox ?
when I hit 'submit' the page just refreshes but doesn't log me in. Works fine in IE11 though ... but I don't want to use IE11 :/

it's the same on my MacBook and my win7 pc using firefox 26.
