Why isn't Pouet more like the Raymarching thread? |

I think the idea is great and would bring the demoscene forward if it spread: Talk about your technique and what you are doing, in public. (Rather than developing privately only.)
Don't be afraid that someone will "steal" your ideas. You'll get your fame anyways.
People who want to be surprised can just skip those threads and go watch the compos only.
All the others can learn a lot more this way and it's also more fun than massaging your machine all alone.
More openness. More sharing. Large-scale mind clouds. Great stuff of the future!

It's a good idea, but I expect a lot of people get fed up with answering 50,000 questions. Just take a look at the Farbrausch sourcecode thread ;)
It seems that people do get some helpful responses when questions are asked in a polite manner, so the demoscene isn't all secrets and lies. People are getting a bit tired of raymarched intros these days (it seems), so that may also explain the willingness to divulge techniques.
My main concern is actually finding information on here. Pouet 2.0, we eagerly await your arrival...
