PixelJam is North America’s newest demoparty, organized by Froggy and others. Building on the traditions that Blockparty started at Notacon, their goal is to provide a forum where creative expression in the digital world can thrive and earn recognition.
PixelJam exists as a distinct entity within the Notacon arts and technology conference, an annual event now in it’s eighth year in Cleveland, Ohio. Notacon strongly believes in and wants to support the demoscene.
In previous years, Notacon/Blockparty has attracted 400 people. This years attendance is anticipated to be around 500. With over 15,000 square feet of conference space available, an awesome audio system and gorgeous projector, the organizers want PixelJam to be thought of as one of North America’s premier demoscene events.
As always, though, we can’t do it without your help… or your compo submissions! So get coding already! |

Looks like PixelJam takes place one week before the easter parties which leads me to the conclusion it'll happen one week before easter.
Looking back at the last decade of German easter parties one notes that there often were quite some above medicore/below state of the art demos that could impress people in the less filled competitions at smaller parties but were thrown away just to show "we are here".
Seeing the US market as one of our most interesting export markets within the next couple of years, I'd like to see this party having success. Remote entries are allowed, and if you manage to get someone of your group to the party place (or someone at the party place to join your group) you have the chance to receive some cash.

i'm not sure if subcontracting promotional activities is a good starting point for a successfull demoparty... so far, i'm sticking with the plan to attend blockparty as my inaugural US demoscene event ;) |

Ooh, thread revival! IC was working on a ustream feed, guess he will say something if and when it works. There probably won't be much to watch, other than a Bits demo. :D |
