Jori Kemppi - Genmaicha Sessions
I'm quite curious to see my first playback and revenue report sometime next month. I don't expect to reach Routenote's $50 threshold any time soon, but I still want to see the data. I'm under the impression that Spotify pays more for unlimited/premium listeners than for free listeners. That would be fair, and I hope that is the case. Also, I guess it might favour artists like me over artists like the often mentioned Lady Gaga :)

You can always use Routenote's free distribution. Which, of course, means that Routenote keeps 15% of your revenues, but if that is ever a real issue, you can always upgrade to the premium :) |

Interesting, I didn't know about that... considering "respected" and well followed musicians often earns 5 cents in a year from spotify... |

That's because the majority of the users listening to those "respected" artists (I assume that since you used quotation marks, you probably mean Katy Perry) are probably free users. According to SpotiDJ, at least CDbaby have a deal where the revenues are higher for premium streams than for free streams. I hope that is the case with Routenote as well, since I believe indie fans are more likely to be Unlimited/Premium users than chart pop fans. |
