well now it's clear. I have to replace everything. I'm using a K8 Athlon with Socket-754. Seems to be pretty oldskool these days.. gosh. No PCIe mainboards available in this combination.

Depends on the socket. If its AM2 it's a nobrainer replacing the motherboard and keeping cpu and memory (and be ready for a new cpu), but if it's socket 939 (which i would guess, considering you have no pci-e) then it's cpu+mb+ram... hmm.. a 3650 (2600xt is basicly the same btw) is around 2-5 times faster than the 6000, while the 7600 is a more constant 2 times. tough cookie.. |
