CHIP (polish edition) is "printing" and showing demos on cover CD for over 2 years now. As long as I am working there :)

best msx:

and could the poles, after 20 years, please stop using a computer name for music? if you don't drop it, i'm going to organise the dutch into consistently calling "graphics" "amiga", just to catch you off guard.

Damn polish sceners :)
Ok quisten2, now I will remember not to mess MSX with Music. Form corrected here ... with full respect for MSX scene (which, im sad saying that, never existed in Poland).

To be honest, I don't know why we are usung a word MSX for Music. Maybi is something like talking about Zaks (for SIDs), what resembles for me Zak McKracken...

well, its only one entry pr. category. And I assume you dont HAVE TO fill in all.
Personally Im gently jumping over the 32-512b intro witch are the most boring stuff ever.

I'd rather have a 5-category poll that people actually bother to fill out (which makes it valid), than a 26(!)-category poll which is bound to have holes the size of the ozone layer.

tFt: Not for everyone tiny intros ar boring, but of couse You don't have to fill all categories.
The most important thing abaut all thet CHIP.PL voting is to show readers whart is demoscene and what we are doing (many people still thinks that scene is related to 8-bit and Amiga era... and discontinued.

While I applaud the effort, I don't really see how padding the category-list with 8 oldschool categories is going to counter-balance the idea that the demoscene is 8-bit/Amiga. ;)

Wonder which reasonable widespread machines fit into 16bit newschool (newschool defined of as more than 10mhz here) - I guess i know what you mean, but a year of introduction (like before 1996) or similar would be better than voting for very much 32 bit aga demos in a 16 bit category.
And since there is an anim category, wouldn't the wild category entries just go into the right demo platform category? (so for instance demo 8bit would be between Craft and Edge Of Disgrace).

gloom: without our past we have no future :) Of course, I know thre is no computer geek who will run for example Edge of Disgrace on emulator just to see how it works, is it funny or not... but: if You will give to people AVI and describe how big is the distance between almost 1 MHz, 16-color, 64 KB machine and modern PC - they WILL find out why is that interesting. Look at categories - most of them concern on what (in my opinion) is important for modern PC releases - like exe music, procedural graphic, intros.

psycholns: well, 16 bit oldschool i mean Atari Falcon, Amiga AGA etc. True, it should be 32 bit (even A500 was), so I will correct categories in printed version.

Also, I will check all wild/demo categories - on most polish parties traditionaly wild and anim compos were/are separated. And 8-bit demo is NOT wild :)
