Demoscene on Local TV...

category: general [glöplog]

A local TV station wants to interview the SparkArts organizers (I'm one of them), and they're going to want a preview of what people are going to see at the festival. Any suggestions on which demos to show them? =)

For the TV propaganda: Candytron, Lifeforce, Beyond the walls of Eryx, The Popular Demo, Dead Ringer...

But... inside the party, a lot of 4k intros and GBA & Amiga stuff!

;)

Please do sneak in one "non-mainstream" production and hopefully some concept-based stuff instead of just pretty things.

Plastic demos would be very well suited for the *cough* "general audience", I think.

dilvie: some french ones by Bomb! Ribbon Orion or/and Cocoon...
some bypass as well :p
dilvie : i guess a bit of everything would work fine. Traction for simplism, Conspiracy for 64k wizardness, Farbrausch for quality, ASD for melodrama, Mfx for audiovisual harmony and finally Fairlight for ribbons \o/.

Elctric Kool Aid / Synesthetics should do the trick. It's usually a very good attention-grasper. Much impact. High BPM. Neat colors. Tested and approved. :)

I'd recommend to pick some demos who are more universal in understanding. (meaning, you do not need to be a demoscener in order to appreciate this).

Hard to think of any PC demos.. but i suppose there're enough.

any moppi demo would do this job Sander :)
btw imho the most mainstream demo ever made is don quijote v20 by Frogwize. And this is not an insult, the demo was high quality :)

Zest : and what about Incoming Future / Gods ? Wasn't that mainstream ?

Sames questions/solutions there with local TV about MAIN#2
cybernostra: the answers may differ a bit, you *have* to show more legendary french prods ;p like bomb, orion, cocoon, mandarine, digital murder, vip2, equinox, calodox, mankind, synrj, kikiprods, etc...

previews? just don't do 64k or 4k intros. size doesn't show in a TV feature.

Word to da shifter!
My point indirectly exactly.

Ok Zest...
Some 64k intros though are quite good looking and sounding, regardless the size.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys! I had a few of them in mind, already, but you've given me some food for thought. =)
