breakpoint 07 amiga compos

category: general [glöplog]
we need active amiga sceners, if in any way possible with their own HW, to help organize the breakpoint 07 amiga compos.

you will be expected to array two days prior to the party and stay for at least one day of after-party cleanup. speaking german is a BIG plus, if you don't, good english skills are a necessity.

please contact us at the breakpoint hotline ml (see http://breakpoint.untergrund.net, won't post the email addy here because of spambots) if you're interested.

(if there are no responses, we'll try our best on our own, as always - but don't complain this time, you got the chance to contribute!)

Ryg, I have sent some suggestions. About the array ..errr arrival: if it is well scheduled before the event (like this) it's possible to take off to Bingen a few days in advance.
What happend anyway ? The old mule ain't work no mo' or wha' ?

i think what happened is they grew tired of the complaints of certain nonproductive amiga zealot and let them have their own go :-)

Well, we think that a platform compo should be organized by sceners active on that platform.

Obviously it has the positive side-effect that zealots are no longer able to get on our nerves, yes ;)

But in the first place, it means that we get far more information about what that platforms scene needs are due to the organizer being in close touch with it. This feedback can be used to improve both competitions and additional party features for a given platform.

The basic formula is:

If you love your platform and wish it to be represented in dedicated Breakpoint compos, take over responsiblity for it. We'll do our very best to support you.

In the past, we've given over control for the C64 compos to active C64 sceners, and it worked out nicely. Amiga is next.

Ghandy or/and the other Moods Plateau guys would be good for this mission :)

Or maybe Stingray.

having a dedicated compo for amiga is good for pc sceneers, just imagine another amiga demo wins a combined compo... :sweet:

they regularly do. which is the great irony about combined compos - all the oldschool platforms are always bitching about how they don't stand a chance there, but in reality good demos on such platforms tend to score pretty well.

Amiga is next.
Does that mean, the mysterious Atari thingy by Havoc is already running?
I nominate Stingray. I'd do it, but dist(Berlin, Bingen) < dist(Odense, Bingen). Also, it'll distract him from his other plans. It might be the only way to stop him.

I could do it, but I would only allow Amiga 500 demos.

If you donate Acryd^FR's Amigas to me (obviously he's not an Amiga-scener?), I'll do it. ;)
Maybe kalms can do it.. His 060 brokedown on his way to assemblu06 so he must buy a new (2nd hand) one ;)

At first I think we should analyze what the problem is.
Is it the PPC-Discussion?
The SVHS-Prerecording?

Compo-Hardware (at least without PPC) should be no problem!

And I also can´t see why pre-recording is necessary.
Or why it has to be pre-recorded on SVHS.

Please drop some notes and hints here, concerning problems in past amiga-demo-compos
