graphic card for PS2.0

category: general [glöplog]

after some breakpoint demos, my graphic card completely fucked up. Overheat she said. This sucker was somehow unable to process PS2.0. This was a GF4 TI4600. RIP.

So, what the hell Chuck Norris would suggest me to watch nowadays demos? I am more and more lame with those hardware thingies.

Thanks dudes.

120/130 euros is just cool.

Well, as far as i know, the TI does not support Shader model 2.0.

I think for this kind of shaders a Geforce FX 5200 or a Radeon 9600 is the minimum to display them.

For Shader model 3.0, a Geforce 7x00 or a Radeon X1300 is the minimum.

The 6600gt supports shader model 3.0, anything above 6*** will work too.

If you hunt around you can probably find a 6600gt for just under £100 (not the fastest card, but it's compatible with just about anything you can throw at it).

Oh, i'm sorry then.

The 6600gt is ofcourse a very good choice.
Another good choice is reading benchmarks on certain sites about those cards and then compare the prices with each other.

I'll do mates. Rockin' answers. So 6600GT could be cool. Let's check some benchmarks then.
Any more suggestions is welcome.

you can even get a motherboard with an on-board GeForce 6150 GPU which handles shader model 3.0 for 100 euros... but they do suck major ass when it comes too speed ( ok... I have one of those.. :-( )

Another thumb for the 6600gt, it was CHEAP and I can screw around with shit.

Nvidia 'nalu' demo runs at slideshow rates though.
