great dezign, great style, great job katastro.fi! but.. a little boring?

Stylish, different, cool. Should have ranked A LOT better. Very artistic, the music rules my world. IMHO one of the best accel demos to hit the scene in some time.

music, wow... very Aphex Twin... the demo is very ambient. Does get a bit boring after many viewings, but then again, what demo doesn't? It's a good, if not great demo, with killer music.

Lately I had seen that again and I started to like it (Who knows :)
But that's what happens with every "Sucking Demotrend" demos I don't understand..

a fucking black layer scrolling, too much layers, we cant see anything!!! very boring, it's sad because background seems to be great! please, remake it without sucking layers, it may be more great

Brilliant stuff, although the scenes tend to grow old fast (the start scene, for instance)

Music is incredible, and the overall atmosphere is quite good.

I still understand why this demo was rated pretty low at TP: it *is* a peculiar kind of demo.

i don't like it but that's ofcourse just my opinion, actually i think it sucks, saw it once and deleted it, boring like hell ... and depressing

I like the whole photograph-business, although I liked it better in 2nd Floor.

And that's all I have to say about this subject.

c'mon ppl, this demo has an ambience which cannot be discarded just like that. how many demos with THAT ambience have you seen last year? yeah, gerbera. yeah, any sunflower piece of art. well?

this one is my personal favourite along with gerbera. 'mood' is the word.

great demo, if a 'lil boring near the finale.
I remember coming 'wow!!!' when the first photo (jumping boy) appeared. this beautiful effect made popular by Matrix movie - static picture of a dynamic object with camera travelling around it - is now badly overused in ads, etc..

To me, this one is nothing else but pointless and rather boring. The music is pretty good, but can't save this production. Dissapointing.

It's so good demo in such many ways that I can't decide where to start...

One of the first accelerated demos that showed how hardware can be used in creative way, not only for boring 3d flybys. Music and gfx are both brilliant and while code doesn't provide anything special it does it work. This demo is not about highly optimized effects but delivering a message in such beautiful form only cream of the crap (ie. demos) can do.

anyway, thumb up for the design and the music, plus the different use of a 3D-acceleration.

This demo has a very nice mood set by bstate's awsome music, and I also like those 'cardboard people' in the 3d scenes. Too bad it gets alot worse after the melodic part in the music.

Very good shit. Nice coherent style and the 'cardboard people' were an excellent addition. Bstates music was also excellent, as usual.

this is splendid.. few demos manage to create such an amazing atmosphere. very very nice flow of visuals.

has a pretty nice visual density which still makes it look different from the other slideshows of effects.

Ok, watched it again. Still no thumb up, but definitely no thumb down either. :) (it's still dead slow with d3d here, so I switched to OGL and it ran much faster).

From what i remember this is an ok:ish demo, it doesn't seem to want to start on my computer right now though.

first time i watched it i hated it, second time it was ok, the third time it was genious :)

Good demo and technologically impressive. There's still some lack of action and point. It's just random images spinning in some technoshitbackground :)
brothomStates's We kill da enemy is one his best tracks and it fits well in the demo.

it's good in the same way "citizen kane" is a good movie. i like it alot, feels like it moves me.

i correct my last sentence, i dont think many foreign scener has seen this demo at kiasma, it was at katastro.fi exhibition at "kontti" space.

Nice visuals, colors, design motif... with Brothomstates' music, it evokes an odd feeling of nostalgia

If you mean the "passing away" thing - I remember talking to Rawer from Katastro.fi at FMX who pointed out that it was just really bad wording: the coder didn't actually die, just left the scene, and is still very much alive. :)

the music is absolutely wonderful until the 2:28 mark, after that it becomes hardly bearable and totally loses its magic coherence.
visuals are nice, but lose their attraction halfway into the demo.
still a thumb for seriously intriguing 2 minutes and 28 seconds.

i remember back in the 90s i had panic attack while watching this demo after smoking some weed, probably because that depressing music and sleep deprivation due too much clubbing.
despite that, it's still one of my favourite tracks lol

Shocked to read of the death of the programmer for this. RIP.
Thanks to Windows being the powerhouse that it is, this still runs well today. Throw a wrapper at it if you wish but Direct3D works fine too albeit with there being a window border visible. Not sure if Glide has any extra effects but I doubt it.

I should really read other comments. He's not dead! Just moved onto real life too soon...
