As long as instructions use the double amount of clock-cycles: Sometimes: 1MHz=1,79MHz ;) The 6502 parent 6501 was a Motorola 6800 knock-off and had to be changed a little = 6502. :) The less register 6502 always blew Intel's 8080 away. The Zilog80 was the 8080's follow-up but the 6502 took less clock cycles per instruction.
