nice. purebasic, why?
nice!
Looks like stuff I made in 1998 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64ULSfxhkDY
That was the the time when bitblitting the whole display using any X server was a challenge.
But I can't take credit for the effect since I just made what dweezil had done in 1993 http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=8174 He shared the algorithm for all to use.
But I don't see what's the point doing it again in 2015

1. No greets no thumb up. 70 kB is too little to fit greets, yeah. Just a little bit more than 32 bytes.
2. Here is chaos zoomer in 1k with music, and even here -- in 256 bytes on peecee. Therefore:
3. What ts said.
Three solid reasons for a single thumb down.

up, why not?
mmmm I feel like people have made effects on computers using pixels before so this is undoubtedly lame
For the effect and Fell's comment.
Fractal zoomers were awesome when Shining and Stellar made them! But now there are many, and an evening's implementation of a fractalzoomer in BASIC, I have to vote that it sucks. Computers are fast enough to run BASIC programs fast now.
BTW if you want, check out BBC BASIC for Windows released a while ago, it's very likely even faster, and excellent :)

I know how Dwezil's algo works
Care to explain it then?

About Dwezil: I am not sure he is an author. Maybe Tsunami made "tornado" 1st?
His name is Dweezil! And he wasn't the first and neither was Tsunami! First known implementation was done by Tizzy/Shining in his TP'92 40k.
There also is a similar effect in an old french demo (forgot the name of the demo and which group it was) which was programmed in AMOS and released in 1991 if memory serves me right.
This looks like some test code and not like a finished production...
Это виндовс, а значит что говно.
Not soo bad. Perhaps should be more polished thou...
endless!
Excellent version of the Dweezil Zoomer, including source code! Kudos for that!
