It would only work on 32K not 24K-expansions before. That one did 208x256 hires or 104x256 multicolor on an PAL-VIC20 and people asked for an NTSC-version. But the NTSC-VIC-chip has different number of rasterlines and cycles per line, so it needs a different program. The NTSC-VIC-chip also supports hardware-interlace, which allows for a higher resolution. So the knowledge of last years production combined with the wish to use the interlace feature lead to this.
