does this happen every run at exact same time?
i could only think of nvidia being excessively strict about NaN values, and therefore them being really easy to produce if not careful (and one making a 4k is not careful by definition). as every particle depends on every other particle, getting even only just one NaN somewhere instantly fills everything else to NaN too. i've seen this happen on my windows+nvidia machine also. will try to avoid this as much as i can in final version.

I tried about 10 times and happens every run.
Particles disappears almost same time.
You might need to check about sqrt(-1), pow(-1, y) or log(-1) etc.
Division by 0 generate infinity in my gpu.
