This is the final of Kefrens256, ranked 5th in the X-mas '01 compo. Still flicker in Windows 2000 because it's a hardware effect, but does not scoll any more.

Yes it is the final. I don't think I will work more on this intro..

Warning! Only Kfrinal.com should be run under pure windows, the others may freeze windows. Kfrns256.com is the original and good in pure DOS or a Dos Box if you have Win95,98 or something bellow Win2k. Kfrns257.com syncs better (And so it doesn't scroll under Win2k, if you run it in a Dos Box :P)
Kfrinal.com runs from pure windows by clicking on the com file, but it flickers yeah :(

Anyways,. thanks to the people for the good comments and the 5th position they gave to me :)

The screenshot is a representation of what my intro should show in the screen, one frame generated with a compiler and not real, because it's hard to screengrab from a hardware effect like this..

optimus you're totally crazy to play with synch but kefrens256 has a really different style and looks great

have you tried to do that with plotting pixels ? and how many btes it would take ?

Very nice effect in 256b, btw the original version runs in my win2k but the effect keeps scrolling all the time... I'll try the final.
good work opti, keep it up :)
and make one for ReAct2k+2 too :)

poo2: No, I prefered to keep the original hardware/synced logic of this effect as it is. But it would be a good idea to make a software version just for compatibility. I don't know how many bytes it would take, but I think I will try it oneday again..
