if you don't like msvc, you could always try mingw32, which is the gcc equivalent for win32, if I'm not totally mistaking :)
ok demo, some nice effects, but the music is not good, at some points it even sounds disharmonic.

The code is good, but could need some help from a designer/color co-ordinator perhaps :)

It's an OK demo with pretty crappy GOA colors. And always fun to see more linux (/unix) productions

There wasn't exactly an overwhelming amount of effects, but what was there looked quite nice!

I find the anti-Windows/VC++ spirit rather sad... Why does VC++ suck, and what makes linux better? The fact that you don't know how to use Windows/VC++? Whatever...
Anyway, if the scrolling ASM code in the beginning was an attempt to show off your l33t skillz, it failed... Namely that was 16 bit DOS code, and was most definitely not used in this production, and most probably not in any of your productions.

Actually, the production you mentioned is this: http://koti.mbnet.fi/~blueflam/ananasmurska/products/mini.zip

The fact I don't know how to use VC++ is an important part of it's suckiness, but the main part is it's broken scoping rules.
Nothing wrong with 16bit DOS code. It may not qualify as 'noticeable capability', but any asm is enough for 'l33t skillz' ;) Made a half decent overlay, anyways...
