Thumbs up for Falcon activity :-) Well done Bear, GT and Marcer.. And it works nicely on my CT60 from FreeMiNT as well.

Atari Falcon scene should put all demo production on hold, until they create an emulator. Falcon has to be the only system in the world that is not yet emulated! :(

WTF?! Demos are formerly made for the real machines, not for emulators. If some emus can run them, it's a bonus, nothing more.

Lucky us, c64/atari/amiga people did not wait for emus to start making and releasing demos.
rulez added on the 2008-01-07 01:57:17 by keops keops
and besides, some of the atari guys are usually pretty reliable with getting videos made quickly
keops: well, I actually own a Falcon, but emulators are more convenient than having to boot-up the real thing. they also make development more efficient/productive. so they're a good thing to have. i generally filter all productions for my Amiga/Atari Ste through an emulator first. If the prods a gem and deserves to be run on the "real thing" it will have its day ;)

just think the Falcon is such a great system and really deserves a proper emulator already.

para: videos for oldschool prods are not very nice, especially when an entire dot/pixel routine disappears due to compression :)

Amitari: stop whining and check this.
I totally agree with you Qeops !

Amitari:
Pfft that's the crappiest thing I've heard for a long time. And by the way, the Hatari emulator run this slideshow pretty well (some noisy YM audio), so your argument was wrong to begin with.

Anyway here's a video:

"Atari Falcon scene should put all demo production on hold" is crapy statement but Hatari Falcon emulation are more than welcome !!!

lol, touchy Atari sceners.

you guys are just angry because I own one of your rare Falcons and never even bother to boot it up! :D

anyway, I'm glad the real scene (ie: Amiga), has a fully developed emu. When Falcon gets one, then you guys can look forward to high quality prods like StarStruck :)))) Until then you can continue feling inferior and get upset when people mention common-sense ideas
added on the 2008-01-07 23:17:39 by button button
and yes, Htari is a poor excuse for a "Falcon emulator" at its current state. srry
added on the 2008-01-07 23:21:41 by button button
Not doing prods on a given machine because there is no emu for it on other machines = common-sense ideas ?

Get a clue, I don't even own a Falcon. The point is that your posts are utterly retarded, nothing less, nothing more.

The scene existed long before we had the first reliable emus but since you seem to be one of those trolls who talk without having even produced anything, I guess it makes sense that you talk out of your ass.

yup. Some images are cool, esp the underwater one.

My god, the pictures are awful! I don't know if people are voting for the format or because they want more hand drawn graphics but this is proof of the dropping standards of scene graphics.

I don't know about the programs or hardware used to paint falcon graphics but visually most Amiga OCS slideshows are 100x more impressive than this.

keops: trust you to totally twist the entire perception of the point. Yes, you're right, to say: "Atari Falcon scene should put all demo production on hold, until they create an emulator." is absurd. It was meant to be, simply to draw attention to the fact that the mighty Falcon has no real emulation yet. If you knew a little more than basic English or your communication skills were better, you'd know that to say something like that is actually called a "false intensifier". It's a common technique in language and communication, look the term up - it's not supposed to be taken literally and/or personally as you and others here seem to have done. Sad.

The REAL point of my comments stand, which are:-

1. Emulators are beneficial to a platform's general productivity
2. For most, they are more convenient
3. they can be used hand-in-hand with real hardware and do not necessarily mean the demise of a system's usage.
4. The Falcon, due to it's awesomeness should have one. (FFS, even the Dragon computer has an emu)

5. and this is the important one: Keops is obviously a 'tard

I partly agree with about everybody, but on various parts for each:
- Great to have a new falcon release
- Pictures are "ok", they don't seem to be copied from Valejo or Frazetta, or some random stock photos (like unfortunately a significant number of the most awesome examples of pixeled amiga pictures)
- Yes having a Falcon emulator would be great for a lot of reasons (what Amitari said)
- Stopping doing Falcon prods because there is no decent Falcon emulator is just ??? Well... I hesitate between "retarded" and "wtf".
- Having videos is nice
- A stock Falcon 030 is not awesome at all. Its just an underpowered machine which has a substandard compatibility with previous models.

I like the pictures, completely different from the predictable subjects that most other demoscene artists flock to. Hope to see more of these in some more dynamic Falcon prods.

This must be the best atari-slideshow for a good while! Ingenious compositions with good use of colors and bitdepth. Groovy music and overall great design. Fresh!

it's quite ok. good pictures. music is nice, but i think ym music on falcon is not done, really. i'd prefer some ace synth or mp2 stuff.

You call this a fresh brise to the scene??
skope, why do dislike those faces? afterall, they look like trolls. do you hate yourself so much?
added on the 2008-03-07 09:31:06 by earx earx
Sure they look like trolls, drawn by an 8 year old on LSD. I'm sorry, but that ain't exactly my idea of a fresh breeze...
However I consider this to be. >:)
(Yawn!)

You grow stale with repetition.

Except for the seahorse, which was quite nice, the quality here is very poor. The pictures look like random doodles with no real thought gone into them.
