I'm with Spaceballs and TBL on this point, the only way most sceners will buy it is by trying to make the fake scenes look like they're about some thing (no matter how vague). Just a monochrome palette seems to be enough subject matter, as long as the music is demoish.
To make up for other lacks though, the music has to be good. And that's not the case here.
