that was quite big, and yes, that´s enjoyable stuff! liked it..

at least it's NOT the interface that is bloated! hitchhiker did a great job again. the music is mostly pretty cool too (except "reflections" which is the kind of trancey stuff i just hate, but it's a matter of taste). so, all in all, worth a download definetely!

the infofile sucks =)

Great interface and good music, although I don't have time yet to listen through it decently.
Don't know what to think about MP3-musicdisks, but with such an intro-like interface it's really worth the download!

Rocking!!! Except the trance tune, thats just boring. Well worth the download.

The tunes are nice, but the interface won't start. I click the EXE, and nothing happens.

<quote>Select a track with left mousebutton.</quote>

.. where? I've tried using the left mouse button everywhere in the GUI but it only seems to move the damn window. I guess I must be stupid

impressive music, too sad that the player doesn't start here (winxp sp2, radeon9600xt on latest drivers).
added on the 2004-12-09 11:37:34 by Bzl
Thumbs up for the interface, realy cool and original. So and so with the tunes, 10 min trace/electronic songs is too boring for me hehe. They arent bad, but not its not my flavor :)
added on the 2004-12-09 11:45:00 by LHS
TRSI IS BACK!!!111 hitchi you should really keep coding for trsi.. make old crew raise to the top again =D
  added on the 2004-12-09 12:01:42 by uns3en_
Good looking interface but not impressive. Not linked at all with the overall trance/ambient style. So what? for the tunes : HQ for sure but very boring. I don't want to tell what I think from the vocals. No I don't want to.
Anyway, one piggy face and certainly not thumb up. TRSI is alive : waow, what a wonderfull news today!
I just want to give my thumb up for good prod not only for reputation. Right?

yeah!

uhm that "yeah" was related to unseen, not to daddyvx.
added on the 2004-12-09 12:54:10 by dipswitch
It doesn't work here. Must be my (lack of a decent) gfx card.
added on the 2004-12-09 14:08:08 by sprocket
yeah! works fine in both cases =D
  added on the 2004-12-09 14:08:56 by uns3en_
s_tec, a_lee_n, Bzl and sprocket: i'll investigate and release a fix as soon as possible, i have nearly the same config as Bzl (except it's a 9800) so it's quite odd it doesn't work for him as i don't use any special features of recent cards (i've been told it's working on a gfx4mx).

daddyvx: right.

Hmm, what the day we have got today dec.1o or dec.o9. 2oo4 or even 8 =)? Well, GOOD release with a cool interface. "The sleeping gods are back in town". Let's RAVVVEEEEEEE.

"wherever you go" simply rocks! YES!!!
added on the 2004-12-09 16:20:59 by Virgill
nice interface, but why does it hide when i click in another window/the desktop? i want the player on the screen and if i don't, i'll minimize it! please fix?

music seems nice too, haven't listened to all of it yet though, but i'll give it a thumb up.
added on the 2004-12-09 16:37:03 by fox
fox: it was meant to be that way, once the player's window is in the background i didn't want it to take useless processor time by refreshing the gfxs (especially the drops), i admit the minimize button is a little bit useless, tho ;D.
Another version is available here for those who have trouble running it:
http://perso.wanadoo.fr/franck.charlet/Fluid.zip
(executable only)
It may not solve the problems but should at least display a relevant error message if anything unexpected occurs.

"Unsupported extension: GL_EXT_texture_lod_bias"

(Intel ExtremeGraphics 915 here)

Pity that demo coders never think about fallback... I don't think it would look much worse without texture LOD bias.

Concerning the tunes: I think they're so/so. Ambient/Failure/Fractal Loop definitely rock, Reflections is much too cheap for me, and the other two definitely could've used a better singer and better mixing (the constantly too high pitched voice in Poisonous DOES get on my nerves. Oh yeah.).

But all in all it's enough for a thumbs up. Nice too see that TRSI are "back" or at least not dead or in constant-oldschool-stagnation mode ;)

added on the 2004-12-09 19:00:28 by kb_
GL_EXT_texture_lod_bias so it's that little bitch.
Thanks for the feedback.

awesome!! love the vocal trance, trsi rules!

Kinda big download, but really nice..
added on the 2004-12-09 19:13:30 by Bugo the Cat
Aaah yes. The most is fine stuff for my ears.
LongPlay-Option is a good idea.
All in a small usable window with some effects and info in it.
Rundum gelungen würd' ich sagen. Danke dafür.
added on the 2004-12-09 20:37:55 by checkoff
hitchhikr: yes, but it's annoying. if i want it to stop use resources, i'll minimize it =)
added on the 2004-12-09 21:16:27 by fox
Here you have.
http://perso.wanadoo.fr/franck.charlet/Fluid.zip
(executable file only)
Auto minimize removed and it should now work with lousy cards not implementing 5 years old ogl extensions. (a fixed version should appears soon on scene.org too...).

Lovely interface.
added on the 2004-12-09 23:34:12 by Buckethead
This is my second thumb up. Poison is on a great tip, it reminds me of portishead and massive attack, yet without imitating any of them.
added on the 2004-12-10 12:09:03 by eebliss
btw, archive updated on scene.org.
added on the 2004-12-10 12:18:48 by hitchhikr
Mhhm, both vocal tracks are pretty nice. Indeed very massive attack alike. "Poisonous" is a hit, "Wherever you go" is enjoyable too. The rest is flat and boring joe-average electronica. Can't comment on the interface, cause it does not work on my ancient box. Piggy, I'd say.
added on the 2004-12-10 17:00:15 by tomaes
liked the effects

Very nice - but what exactly does the longplay mode do? Crossfading only?
  added on the 2004-12-10 20:15:04 by beavis77
When turned on tracks are played in sequence.
when turned off the current track is looped forever.

Reflections - B
Wherever you go - B
Ambient - D
Failure - C
Poisonous - A
Fractal loop - C
Music quality - A

Awesome! Poisonous is great, though after reading kb's comment I agree having an alto would have made it better.

btw. musax are good. nice work.
added on the 2004-12-13 12:21:47 by AbcuG!
oh, and yes i try out all the three version... The same effect: trow out without a word and then a windows error dialog comes up ... :( gf2 mx400, xp pro sp1, 256mb ):
added on the 2004-12-13 12:26:48 by AbcuG!
AbcuG!:

gf2 you say... i've no way to test it under such card but as i don't use any special gl extensions (since the lodbias thingy is now patched) i don't think it's the real problem.

Now that i think about it, the exe won't work with processors not supporting SIMD, in fact i don't think it can run with a processor below a p3, this may be the problem (or something like that).

I'm using xp sp1 with 256mb of mem too so apart from an issue with the processor i can't think about anything else.
added on the 2004-12-13 12:50:43 by hitchhikr
ok try with this one:
http://perso.wanadoo.fr/franck.charlet/Fluid.zip
(exe only)
If it doesn't work i can't do anything else.
added on the 2004-12-13 13:17:11 by hitchhikr
This last patch works fine, thanks for it ! ... and you got it: yes i try on a p2 500 :)

At home, i have a better comp. but here i have the worst. because i'm the man who give comps. to everyone :)))))
