Pretty. I liked "Contact" too. ;) .. This one even worked correctly on my PC unlike your previous intro (except for one little bug at the beginning of the unzooming). The music wasn't too special, but not too irritating either. All in all this was nice.

hey garg, are that problems caused by lowram or i should blame os ?
i just want to watch it but i'd like to know if i would be able to do it if i install 4-th os on my machine :)
i just dont want to spend time allfornothing

mift0: i'm not really competent with the visuals, please contact BoyC instead (the email addresses are in the .nfo)
it works with 256MB ram here, not sure about the OS problem.

Stunning! Now I just need a faster machine - or the final version ;)

Btw. did you realise that Gary Tongue seems to be associated with a weird sect, the "urantia foundation"?

A bit rushed and unoptimized. The synth still sounds too chippy, imho. But was overall nice to watch, albeit not technically impressive.

I really didn't like the music, but the visuals were awesome (considering this being an intro), although the planet were way, WAY, WAAAYYYY too close to eachother :)

And an interesting thing that i noticed too:
it was trying to broadcast something over internet, some "how many is watching our prods"-statistics perhaps?-)

looks nice on the screenshots but just gives me some flying spheres w/o textures and stuff :(

haha wtf? :))
there is absolutely NO network-code involved, you can make that sure by looking into the exe. something went wrong there i guess :)
the idea, however, sounds pretty cool :))

Looks pretty much like a certain mfx demo to me, only more...er...filled out :)

congrats, very nice, perfect textures and fitting music. as a whole prod, it's a bit slow/boring, but definitely a must see. shame, you didn't have enough time...
the thing i didn't like: some fillrate-killer parts are overloading even a radeon9700pro...

i get the same problem as mft, blackscreen most the time, only see some objects, but music is fine, realy cool music, so thumb up for that :)

pretty nice but it's a pity the music hangs or slows down along with the framerate (Geforce FX / Athlon 1700 xp / 512mb)

really nice artwork by zoom - the foggy intro was amazing!

Crashes after about 2min. on my laptop...
(P4 2.53, 512MB RAM, WinXP pro, Ati Mobility Radeon 7500)

The little I saw before the bluescreen of death was awsome though ;) Will check it out on another computer later..

nice textures and camerawork ;)
music sounds quite chippy and there's not much geometry involved ;), however it's definitely beautiful. rulez.

darn, doesn't run here... waiting for teh final... (i know, my vidcard is buggy, but waiting is cheaper...)

I'm waiting for a version that WORKS. This one only gives me black screen and suttering audio-playback. (p4-1800/gf4go/256mb)

From what I could see (1st half was just hd swapping mania :)): Awesome, yet a bit kitschy textures, fairly good music, very static, hardly any real effects...
added on the 2004-01-25 14:44:57 by tomaes
my thoughts:
a) jerky framerate
b) *nice* yet kitschy textures indeed :)
c) nice blurs
d) nice colors
e) some good clean scenes, some a bit ugly (designwise)
f) sound is okay
g) a bit repetetive, but solid action in general
h) spheres :)

deserves "an up" though.

Incredible piece of work! Looks and sounds beautiful, and is varied just enough to make it entertaining.

My only gripe is the severe stuttering music and visuals, which made it very difficult to enjoy, so I'll reserve my thumb for a fix, or until I can resolve the problem myself.

firstly, it certainly does weird buggy things. like on my athlon1800+ with gf4ti4200, only the bottom half of the screen is visible (the rest is black) and there are also some black squares over some of the rest of it. for the whole intro (from loading bar onwards).
seems to need more memory than the 256mb ive got as well.. =) like a lot of swapping goes on. oh, and it seems to eat fill rate.

apart from that, the texgen seems really good, a lot better than the project genesis one, its superb. the synth also seems better. generally it looks very pretty. nice design, camerawork etc, and very clean look (except for the bugs of course).

looking forward to breakpoint 64k compo now.. =)

nice mood... in spite of weird framerate, even on a powerful computer

Must be good, tho it doesn't run on my machine... All I saw was a preview on BoyC's machine, but that looked nice, except for a few color mismatches. But I guess they fixed it in the final version.

Very nice! It's like The Universe Part I and II in 48k... Excellent visuals, decent music, lots of things to do. I was waiting for a low-altitude planetary flyover though, and it skipped very slightly every three seconds on my machine.
