Didn't expect to see this released at outline. It looked really great at the party.
Allright.!! too keWL.!! (in a good way.!)
Cool invite. Looks awesome, but gets a bit boring towards the end IMO. Dead slow on my computer but whatever - it's enough for my thumb :)
UP
i would like to see you fail, but this wasn't it.
it's good, but would've been better if it had been about a minute shorter :)
mega! possibly a bit long, but that motion blur rocks and i love the soundtrack by keito howlett
nice invitation
lol ps3
the music is not entirely my bag, but the effects are very slick and for an invite works well
Not much to see, but what's there looks awesome. As parapete pointed out, the motionblur rocks.
Cool effects.
it's got cubes and a chrome spere, what more do we want? :)
cool shaders nice music! though a bit boring with the same scene all the time.

nice
Very nice motion blur!
This is, by a HUGE margin, the best invitation I've ever seen! Fantastic hi-tech look, great music and it runs blazingly fast.
Great work, congrats to everyone involved!
Great work, congrats to everyone involved!
And btw... this "only" came THIRD??? What was the winner? Second Reality 2?
kick ass soundtrack and fresh visuals
Eyecandy, love it..., my personal compo favourite
Oh boy!
I like the "high-tech" visuals and the music, but as others have already pointed out, it's just a bit too long. Would've loved to see more variation in scenes.
nice
video ?
action!
Wonderfull visuals and music.
awesome! ultra high-tech, damn crisp in 1920x1080, rulez!
Keito's music is what really makes this production come together - the tune is fresh, uptempo and gives you a positive frame of mind. I like the motion blur also. Though this outstays its welcome a bit towards the end and could have been cut shorter, it still gets a thumb up from me. Nice.
A bit short, but I like :)
It's ok.
extremly nice in-your-face demo!
outracks style.

Of course, if Navis had coded it it would have ran on an FX5600 and taken half the space. But you can't have everything.

...the screenshot looks cool.
black screen, music plays
Radeon X1600 (ati2dvag.dll)
Radeon X1600 (ati2dvag.dll)
could be shorter, but very nice nonetheless
LOL, doesn't work on Windows/Radeon, but it works on Ubuntu (with Wine)/Nvidia. Haha! 1fps tho, but hey!
I'll wait for a video version to rate it.

Awesome!!
A bit uneventful but ok for an invitation. Good use of motion blur!
heh Smash should be careful with comments like the on e v3nomsoup quoted because some lamers might end up believing it.

got the same here:
Radeon X1950 (ati2dvag.dll)
neat
Slick design!
Only problem for me: The music doesn't quite fit it - too soft - it should be more "edgier", more industrial maybe.

This probably has to do with the 'mad fun at the party'-factor that both second and first place had, it's an Outline thing, I guess.
But cheers lads! Thanks for releasing at Outline! And it's a great invite.
Nice to see such and efficient prod released at Outline. But yep, that's not exactly the kind of prods this audience is after. Hence the 3rd place.
Nice but a tad long / repetitive
Sadly the same problem as Hitch in here. Black screen and then error, saying the program gotta be closed. P42,8 - 1024DDR2 - x850XT.
Still watched the vid.
Fucking rocks my socks.

Fucking rocks my socks.
just watched the video (to old computer at home), but it rules. I will try to see tomorrow at work to analyze the pixels :) :)
Nice mblur btw.
Nice mblur btw.
no 3.0s here :( .. but the video still looks impressive ..
Rocks but imho too long (cutting down some scenes may have given more "power" to the demo).
What v3nomsoup said.
Need to watch it realtime, full res.

very nice
Great effects, music got on my nerves quickly.
really nice
Sound, no picture.

oh.. and WinXP SP2 (legal).
very, very good shaders!
looks great, but too boring for me
so awesome! :) great work!
I really enjoyed the visual aspect of it, but the track killed the experience for me.
Amazing that it still runs smooth with my crappy 7400Go, excellent job with the effects
greeble
really nice graphics, a bit boring after a while, music is ok, piggy!
oh, password protection ... hmm....
thanks for doing the invitro, I was the one who replied to Gina "I'm sorry but ...". You rock. And as for the production. Big fuckings for the motion blur effect, now our next demo is doomed :P.
smash<3
so... that's how balls of steel are made of :>
überrulez crispy visuals and pwning music! ... if all 'minus' prods could be such entertaining and this quality :)

Nice, a bit too long though :)
ok...whatever...
FRESH NEWS FROM HUGI DISKMAG: The next Plastic demo features heavy usage of motion blur! :D :D :D
Fucking awesome.
It went on too long and got a little boring
"Let´s put some energy into this place!"
superb concept, cool visuals, simply ace! unfortunately I'm not a tekkno-boy.
same as Lugoober
Sound, but no picture.
ATI X1650XT, Catalyst 8.4

Very cool motion blur, oldschoolish techno tune, all in all nice but It could have been more dynamic (i.e. everything exploding in the end :D)
My gfxcard is old, heh... :|
My gfxcard is old, heh... :|
Nice motion blur! But a little bit more variation would be nice :)
Sweet, simple but effective. Reminds me of "Event Horizon". Anything that reminds me of that is worth a thump up. ;)
oh yeah
what the hell was this shit?
Very nice idea, sweetly cool motion-blur.

what the fuck, this is insane :D
Neat, but yeah - a bit too long. Also: a bit hard to read the text? (which is quite bad, considering that this IS an invitation)
But ok, all in all a rather huge piggy.
But ok, all in all a rather huge piggy.
it's a nice one but nothing special and slighly repetitive.. i'm surprised there are no "could have been done in 64k" comments.. maybe everyone wants to be nice at these guys..
surely could have been done in 64k..... wooops
Wow! In the midst of textmode demos, 1-256byte intros, retro-scrollers and line demos, it's such a breath of fresh air to see a demo that actually looks "next gen"!
The whole thing looks and sounds so professional, in a league above the usual scene standards.
The whole thing looks and sounds so professional, in a league above the usual scene standards.
What pleases me, besides the cool motionblur-scene where the shells of the evil sphere is spinning, is that a "fast" release like this isn't slaughtered. It would be much more fun for everyone if groups started releasing more, and neccessarily shorter, demos.
a few nice syncs, but in general it's pretty damn boring.
Basically what Hyde said. We're in this scene for doing stuff, and this little gem excels at exactly this point.
Still yeah, one minute less and a more.. defined soundtrack wouldn't have hurt, but then on the other hand that music so reminded me of early 90s "Amiga Techno" I had to smile. :)

nice but repetitive
I second Hyde! (so please give us more oao releases to!)
It's a spikeball, but the next-gen filter is cool.
Not bad, but far too repetitive and single-sided. For an invitro, i suppose it's okay.
Awesome invitro. Just wish the visuals would show up on my ATI.
It delivers the goods quite effectively. Thanks for that prod!
Ah, and don't forget to actually ATTEND the event - it will rock! http://www.dvision.at

Good enough, a little static but still realy good, ps love the music!
cool
Rulez
I like it. Plus it runs astonishingly fast on my cheap GPU.
crisp as it should be.
what gargaj said
a bit boring, but technically cool
I like it when one part has several variations.
rocks hard !
piece of art

rulez, but "minus" for the music
simple but nice
Second: Simple but Nice.
Extremrulung!
Kicks ass bigtime!
what, why does this run on my peecee? I mean, it's fairlight! :D
Also: Design !
Also: Design !
what plaume said
the motion blur's really sweet
Finally works with my x1950 and looks just fine.
Trippy, but didn't like its music much.
Rules
Great visuals
great invitro!
nice one...
if it only be a little smaller... :D

Great!
Deepness in the Sky II - Now with Balls. I like.
sweet stuff.
groovy
Cool!
Needs to run oneframe - ensure that you reduce AA and resolution enough when watching this.
(I get 1920x1080@60fps with no AA)
Don't think it is too long - like the "raving" feel.

What Hyde said. This invitro rocks !
Cool! Motion blur is the new radial blur. Anything without it from now on willl look so 2007. Nice goa track! (or whatever techno genre this is nowadays.. squid house? Mortgage house? Subprime step? )
yeah baby d--O_o--b
bad dance music, bouncing object in the center, dead camera. 100% coder demo :(
really nice fx but no
really nice fx but no
Stylish all the way.
Permanently centered composition is boring.
Yep, boring.
# 100
contrary to others I don't like the music that much - it's boring, and it sounds quite "fast-made".
Some cool stuff like motion blur, and a cool discoball in the demo itself, but other than that I'll say: meh..
piggy

Someone forgot to disable Nvidia PerfKit debug ability's from DirectX :P
not bad, but a little boring and the music is really not my listening taste, so piggy from me now
It didn't work on my nVidia GeForce FX 5200 so I just watched the video. The sphere effect and metallic visual are pretty cool but it's quite repetitive considering its size (nearly 20 MB) and I didn't really like the music. But waiting for the sphere to open is pretty cool and its ambiance reminded me of films like Cube and Event Horizon.
pump up the volume
Whoa, great beat with a very well done motion blur. Realtime generation!
no comment...
hardcore! \o/
enjoyed it.
I fully support Hyde's view. And this production was desperately needed for its freshness in a usually quiet period. Secondly it's very exciting to see Smash and Navis collaborate on a production. And I love the humour of the nfo file.
And Keito, seriously, are you going nuts or what? :-)
And Keito, seriously, are you going nuts or what? :-)
thanks for supporting outline! :)
i have to be honest, though. this prod didn't impress me in the least. esp not considering the file size.

cool indeed
i fell in love only looking at the screenshot!
oh, btw, someone do a proper videocap, this one is almost unwatchable.
the demo rocks.
the demo rocks.
great work, neat soundtrack by keito :D
nice visuals but I dislike the music. it also should have been shorter.
Only watched the video - but this has such a sinister feel to it. Matrix meets Event Horizon at 100mph... The music really got my knees going under the table.. :)
A short, enjoyable blast of energy!

Well, looks nice - but also it's very repetitive and given that, it's just way too long...
I really like the mood of this demo.

visually getting tedious quickly for being a one trick pony all the way through.
the music ain't particularly "bad" but it still made me hit that mute button when the pitched-up vocal became triggered in heavy rotation with a straight offbeat bass that was just too prominent to stand. probably a pretty personal antipathy.
bottom line is: cancelled and deleted.

Great visuals, music could be better...
Cock! This looks just my cup of tea and I'm nowhere near a box that will run it. All I have is youtube on a phone over a slow network. Still thumb up hard for the 49 seconds I managed to see, especially the tune which is nothing like I expected but rocks hard. Mp3? :)
Great visual but....
17Mb for a "small" effect, it's surely not realtime!
17Mb for a "small" effect, it's surely not realtime!
Yeah, 16 Mb precalc-tables and h264 video. I know they are there. ;)
Seriously though, it looks nice enough but I didn't like it much.

smash, even more poignant considering he's picked "17mb" out of thin air!
Cool stuff. A little too long though.
Looks VERY awesome!!
I really like this prod!
I really like this prod!
maybe the main effect is a bit overstretched.. anyway, really powerful invite - great to watch
Nice ! these pixels shaders effects rox!
But like others say : a little to long at the end
boring ball techdemo...
Really nice! And definitvely achieved what it said in the nfo - a demo I never would have thought to come from Navis nor Smash, and definitively not as a co-op of both. ;)
Loved it
really dynamic ball!
that thing is somewhat state-of-the-art already....for 2008 ;) ...but why did no1 put it a level higher saying "Navis and Smash definitely should do a BIG ONE together in the close future.!" ...???
...i would be so interested in seeing the result of that BIG-CoOp if i would get wind of it....
(ok,maybe some1 got in the right direction already, but i didnt read all of the comments yet,i admit.!)

The ball was cool too.
The ball was cool too.
oooooh motion blur
LOL, should have won.
Its perhaps a little too long for me, but it's so pretty :-p
In fact, on watching it again its not too long at all, I must be mad.
Great invitro :)
good effects, but the awful monoton music made me press escape after a while.
Fantastic. =)
i really like that! cool flashing objects & cool music... =)
Pretty nice. Would've loved it every slice would turn at differrent speeds, though, would've made the motion blur much cooler.
der tanzende todesstern :-)
The music is the real gem here.
this is quite nice BUT
can we get a higher res video? I can't run this and I GOTTA see it in higher res......................
can we get a higher res video? I can't run this and I GOTTA see it in higher res......................
welp I did find a 'hd' one on demoscene.tv, HTH
Cool ball, crappy generic reason-music.
Do I smell Variform in here? ;)
Great stuff, but maybe a little on the heavy side size wise considering...
good music and visuals
after the third watch i liked it. ;)
the music is not really my taste.
the music is not really my taste.
very well done! great storytelling, very emotional, diversified soundtrack, lots of content and attention to detail!
my motion blur remains unbeaten, though :)
whoops, wrong thumb direction!

wtf @ panic
panic with a Q I mean obviously
Maybe it's sufficient when you call him a 'cunt'. ;)
perhaps he just feels neglected then. :)
sony with a q > panic with a q!
nice, but should be smaller!
Awesome.
nice one
very cool indeed.
by the way, paniq; to be honest your motion blur wasn't even slightly "brilliant" considering the bands (a la layers) of blur were totally visible distinctively.

I've finally seen this in Fulll HD. My mouth was open the whole time. This is magnificent. Fantastic music, wonderful visuals - I felt I was inside that cube. It gorgeous, bold and so in your face. I'm simply in awe. CDC moment.
My thumb isn't fast enough!
simply awesome style !
for me the best invitation so far !
maximum respect !

Not too shabby.
@auld, could you possibly kkapture that for us.
Yay! Was a great prod!
Impressed by the effects on the ball and the ambience, also if I've expected some changes of scenario during the demo, imho

this one roooooooolez
Da powah!
Meh, didn't do it for me. Doesn't suck, but isn't that interesting either.
realtime awesomeness!
:)
!
I honestly don't know if I like it or not. Tech-wise it's cool (especially in Full HD) but most of the stuff I usually like in demos is missing.
P.S: "I've got balls of steeeel"
P.S: "I've got balls of steeeel"
I watched this in 1080p yesterday and somehow this looked very very slick and smooth. Does this use HDR lighting? I can never really tell unless I see 'with HDR/without HDR' comparisons. Or maybe it's the motion blur that makes it so slick? I dunno, there is something unreal about the image quality.
I'm sorry paniq, but your motion blur doesn't even come close to this one. :P
I'm sorry paniq, but your motion blur doesn't even come close to this one. :P
quality!
Do you believe that? Smash aka Matt Swoboda sent a notice to YouTube, which caused a account warning and threat to shut down my account, because I was infringing on his copyright.
I used 12 seconds in one and 45 seconds of the demo in two short 5 min videos of mine as backdrop for a little intro to the actual video footage, which has nothing to do with all this.
First of all, an email to ME would have done the trip as well, if he can not bear seeing a few seconds of the video recording of his demo anywhere else.
Second: Since when behave demosceners like this?
and Third: smash used to be a member of Razor 1911 and so did I.. hey team mate... how quickly did you forget about the "team" and the "mate" part?!
p.s. my videos were amateurish with a semi-professional background, but non-commercial use. In other words: I spent time on them and didn't receive a penny for it myself.
Cheers!

screw that roy dude...
ok ok i dont think realtime generation is the best demo i´ve seen but here is my THUMB UP to negate Roys narrowmindedness.
good looking, can't stand the music much though. And why has the spikey ball been the most copied visual lately?
it's a ball, it's spikey AND it has cubes. what do you want more? :)

Different music! :) I love what I see but I hate what I hear (sorry Keito ;P). +=
Ok after year I can watch it on new ATI and I consider it is great demo. One pulsating scene but with what a ride thanks to great music. All thumbs up !
Solid work.
nice variations of a rather simple scene setup.. cool..
Exactly what I hate. Demo for the classes, not for the masses !
.
Extraordinary pulsed production !
nice music
consistent piece with technical excellence for the right mood! like working, dancing and everything else to keep in speedy pace. quite happy to be able finally experience all this realtime greatness in fullHD without compromises (yet discounting my stuff;(() instead from videos, now i even start looking forward home to enjoy some new(old) demos :)
Love it, love it.
.
not bad :)
I like it.

Hey, no comment, what gives? I thought this looked absolutely excellent back in 2008, and in fact it still does. Goes to show how much just "simple" motion blur adds :). The lighting is great too. Sure the simple geometry helps, but still the tonalities are just sooo well controlled. Never liked the track that much thoug (certainly sounds like made in one night), but the synchronization at least works. Overall perfectly demoish.
